As an Ansys Application Engineer II, you will engage with customers to understand their product development processes and address their application engineering challenges using Ansys software and best practices. You will act as a hands-on expert in CFD Aerodynamics, providing technical sales support, delivering professional services, ensuring customer productivity through training and methodology support, and translating customer needs into new product features. You will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to enhance your knowledge and business impact. Your responsibilities include executing assigned tasks, supporting technical activities like discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations, and proactively seeking assistance when needed. You will also develop promotional materials, support marketing events, provide product training, and participate in professional service delivery for projects, potentially collaborating with engineers from different disciplines. Understanding and testing new product functions and features to meet customer requirements is also key, alongside contributing to internal knowledge sharing and establishing best practices.
Must have:
  • MS in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace/Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in an engineering software environment
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software
  • Logical problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Job Details

Summary / Role Purpose

As Ansys Application Engineer II, you will work with your customers to understand their product development and find solutions to their reported application engineering challenges while utilizing Ansys software and best practices in their design workflows.

 

As a hands-on expert on the Ansys products in your application area CFD Aerodynamics you will provide technical sales support, deliver professional services, ensure customer productivity through training and methodology support, and help translate customer requirements into new product features. You will work in multidisciplinary teams to expand your knowledge, experience and business impact.

 

                   

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assume and execute tasks assigned to you by your direct manager or senior team members and support requested technical activities throughout the lifecycle of an opportunity, e.g. technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. Proactively seek advice if you get stuck.

• As a product expert for one or more Ansys products, you will work with customers to better understand their product development requirements and how they work. You will learn general application-specific design and simulation workflows. You will analyze and research how Ansys products and platforms can best meet customer requirements and internalize the Ansys value proposition.

• Support the Ansys Field and Digital Marketing team by developing promotional materials and supporting events.

• Provide product and application training and participate in the delivery of professional services for projects, which may include working with other engineers from the same or other disciplines.

• Understand the development of new product functions and features to meet customer requirements and participate in the application testing of these new product functions.

• Actively contribute to internal company knowledge sharing initiatives and embrace the culture of codifying and creating best practices within a technical discipline and across disciplines.

 

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • MS in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace/Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: MS+2
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time

 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: MS+3,
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of time
  • Additional preferred requirements for the specific position being advertised
