Shape the future of mobility at Nissan by joining as an Assembly Maintenance Engineering Intern at Decherd Powertrain Assembly. You will assist Maintenance Engineers and Supervisors with data acquisition, troubleshooting, and improvements on equipment. Responsibilities include evaluating and setting up parts for new equipment, managing equipment specification packages, improving predictive lab standards, and conducting product testing. You will also support kaizen activities with presentations and data.
Must have:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Ability to perform work onsite in Decherd, TN M-F
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

We are currently looking for an Assembly Maintenance Engineering Intern to join our team at Powertrain Assembly.

A Day in the Life:

  • Assist Maintenance Engineers and Supervisors with data acquisition, troubleshooting, communicating, and improvements on equipment that pertain to Assembly Key Performance Indicators.
  • Evaluate and set up parts for new equipment, plus make recommendations for new parts to replace obsolete parts.
  • Create, issue, and manage equipment specification packages for purchases as directed by senior engineers.
  • Gather, evaluate, and improve the oil, vibration, and thermography standards in the Predictive lab.
  • Initiate and conduct product testing for new methods, parts, or equipment as directed by Senior Engineers or Managers.
  • Provide presentations, spreadsheets, or requested data to support actions relating to kaizen activities or improvement concepts.

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
