Job Description

As an Associate Director, Social Strategy at Digitas, you will lead the development and execution of breakthrough social strategies for global financial services brands. This role requires deep expertise in social media, creative ideation, and client management. You will create social playbooks, translate insights into creative briefs, and develop integrated social and content strategies. Partnering with creative and analytics teams, you will drive engagement and measurable results, serving as a trusted client advisor. Staying current on digital trends and mentoring junior team members are also key responsibilities.

Overview

As an Associate Director, Social Strategy, you will play a key leadership role on our team, guiding the development and execution of breakthrough social strategies across two high-profile global brands in the financial services space. This is a rare opportunity for a true T-shaped strategist—someone who combines deep expertise in social media with broad fluency in creative ideation, client management, and culture-shaping campaigns.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day, your role includes:

  • Leading the creation of robust, actionable social playbooks and frameworks to set client teams up for success in always-on and campaign environments.
  • Translating social and cultural insights into compelling creative briefs and big ideas that push brands into cultural relevance.
  • Developing and executing integrated social and content strategies that drive engagement, brand love, and measurable results.
  • Partnering closely with creative, influencer, and analytics teams to deliver cohesive programs and breakthrough work.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to clients, deftly managing relationships and confidently navigating high-visibility projects.
  • Keeping a firm pulse on pop culture, emerging platforms, and digital trends—identifying new opportunities for brands to lead, not follow.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members, helping to elevate the team’s overall strategic output.

Qualifications

We’re looking for impactful experience, which typically includes:

  • 6–8 years of digital and social experience—agency, brand, or publisher-side—ideally with a mix of content, creative, and campaign leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement social playbooks, frameworks, or best practices for large brands.
  • A strong track record for driving creative campaigns from insight to execution, especially those rooted in cultural or social trends.
  • Deep understanding of the social media landscape across legacy and emerging platforms, with a passion for staying ahead of what’s next.
  • Experience crafting creative briefs, collaborating with creative teams, and inspiring breakthrough ideation.
  • Expertise in both organic and paid social, including influencer strategy and measurement.
  • Ability to distill data and insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional client management skills—adept at navigating complex organizations and building trust.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling and persuasive presentations.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and a passion for mentoring others.

Compensation Range: $105165 -158290 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
