Job Description
The Battery Product Design Engineer – Cell Characterization role involves coordinating and executing mechanical characterization tests on battery cells. The engineer will develop and conduct tests to understand and improve cell functionality. They will collaborate with reliability and design teams to address failure modes and improve mechanical design. They will participate in the development of manufacturing processes, act as a technical liaison with vendors, and communicate project statuses across different teams. This role requires delivering product timelines effectively.
Must Have:
- Develop and complete tests to mechanically characterize the battery cell and its components.
- Work with the Reliability and Design team to understand failure modes and find opportunities for improvement by mechanical design.
The Battery Product Design Engineer – Cell Characterization, is an individual contributor role and will coordinate and execute mechanical characterization of the cells to understand and improve the overall functionality of the cells for our customers. • Develop and complete tests to mechanically characterize the battery cell and its components. Will work with other domain experts, and vendors to get results • Work with the Reliability and Design team to understand failure modes and find opportunities for improvement by mechanical design. • Participates in development of manufacturing processes with multi-functional team and external vendors, acting as product development technical liaison among vendors to improve material performance. • Communicates technical status of projects cross functionally, including throughout the management structure • Completes tasks necessary to deliver product timelines
