Job Description

This role is for a BD and Sales Manager at Thales's Ground and Air Systems division in Massy, France. The primary mission involves building trust with NATO and its agencies, establishing account plans, developing and negotiating offers as a Capture Leader, and securing orders. The position covers both support for existing systems and the development of new opportunities in a constantly evolving technical environment.

  • Conduct offer negotiations and secure orders in accordance with the gate mandate.
  • Engineer or commercial background.
  • Successful first experience in commerce with international institutional clients or in complex environments.
  • Very good interpersonal skills and clear communication.
  • Comfortable in an international environment and able to work and negotiate in English.
  • Knowledge of military markets.
  • Comfortable with high technology.

Your daily life

The Ground and Air Systems activity based at the Massy site is a leader in air operations command and control systems and air defense radar systems.

Within the Defense Air Systems Commercial Directorate of Thales LAS France.

Main missions:

  • Build a relationship of trust with NATO, its acquisition agencies, and certain alliance countries to understand their needs, constraints, and identify new opportunities.
  • Establish account plans.
  • Construct offers with technical and bid teams following the product strategy as Capture Leader, including coordinating bid teams, elaborating the commercial strategy, preparing gates, and drafting the commercial offer.
  • Conduct offer negotiations and secure orders in accordance with the gate mandate.

In a context of modernization of these systems and a constantly evolving technical environment, the position covers both support offers for the installed base and the development of new opportunities.

Your profile:

  • With an engineering or commercial background, you have a first successful experience in commerce with international institutional clients, or in complex environments.
  • You have very good interpersonal skills, you know how to communicate clearly, you are comfortable in an international environment, and you know how to work and negotiate in English.
  • Teamwork is important to you.
  • Experience abroad is an asset.
  • You have knowledge of military markets; knowledge of command and control systems would be an additional asset. You are comfortable with high technology.
  • Travel is expected.
