Job Description

The Brand Finance Manager will provide financial leadership and business support to commercial partners in the Oral Health Care, Expert Sales, and Connected Consumer Experience teams. They will perform financial analysis to maximize sales, gross margin, and profit for the brand portfolio. Responsibilities include supporting strategic and tactical activities, partnering on innovation business cases, providing financial support for key commercial meetings, identifying business risks and opportunities, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. The role requires contributing to month-end close and forecasting cycles, leading innovation reporting, and optimizing financial processes. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization and operate in a matrix environment.

Must Have:
  • 3-5 years experience in Finance performing advanced analysis.
  • Direct experience in a business partnering role.
  • Solid understanding of finance fundamentals.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Job Purpose:

As a Manger, Brand Finance Business Partner, you will provide ongoing business support and financial leadership to your Commercial partners in the Oral Health Care, Expert Sales teams and Connected Consumer Experience team.  Your financial acumen and analytical skills will enable you to perform relevant and insightful analysis, allowing the brand portfolio you support to maximize Sales, Gross Margin and Profit.  Your contributions will deliver higher returns and efficiencies from Brand innovation and investments.  You will be a key member of the Canadian Finance team, where your knowledge and experience will be utilized to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting is enabled through a strong internal control environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing analytical support and financial leadership for strategic and tactical activities such as, pricing & promotional analysis, A&P investments, commercial calendar activities, investment and divestment proposals and business evaluation
  • Partnering on Innovation business cases to drive strategic growth and profitability
  • Provide financial support for all key Commercial meetings including Monthly Performance Reviews (MPR), Monthly Business Reviews (MBR), Demand Review Meetings (DRM), Portfolio Reviews (PMR), and cross functional Brand teams
  • Proactively drive the identification of business risks and opportunities
  • Ensure delivery of annual financial results (e.g. Sales, Profit, Cashflow) as well as mid term growth targets for assigned Categories / Brands as well as for the enterprise as a whole
  • Partner to develop robust and sustainable annual operating plans and strategic plans
  • Ad hoc projects as required

Accounting, Forecasting & Controls

  • Contribute to the month-end close process, adding insights from your portfolio of responsibility
  • Contribute to the monthly forecasting cycles, adding insights from your portfolio of responsibility
  • Canadian Finance lead for Innovation reporting
  • Optimize financial processes across Commercial and Finance HUBS to drive efficiencies while maintaining a strong compliance culture

COMPLEXITY:

  • Communicate effectively across several levels in the Consumer organization including Canadian leadership team, US Finance team, Site finance, Controllers, Corporate, etc.
  • This position must be able to operate effectively in a matrix organization.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience
  • 3 - 5 years experience in Finance performing advanced analysis, management reporting
  • Direct experience in a business partnering role
  • Solid understanding of finance fundamentals
  • Superior Microsoft Excel financial modeling and strong PowerPoint skills; strong knowledge of ERP and business intelligence products such as SAP and Microsoft Power BI
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills demonstrating the ability to understand key business drivers and offer workable solutions
  • Ability to quickly learn the business and effectively build relationships with individuals at all levels within an organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, confident under pressure and committed to continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or additional finance designation an asset.
