Candle Media is seeking a multi-tax Manager / Assistant Manager to join our growing Tax Team. The role will be based in London, at our Moonbug office, reporting directly into the Candle Media International Tax Director.

Moonbug has already grown to become the largest kids' entertainment company on digital platforms in the world. Some of our existing titles include global sensations CoComelon, Blippi, Little Baby Bum, Morphle, Supa Strikas, ARPO and many more which are available in 32 languages and can be viewed on more than 100 platforms globally.

The Role

This role will partner heavily with other members of the Finance team, cross-functional team members and our third-party tax advisors. The day to day will involve managing compliance work, driving the company’s tax-related workstreams, and providing guidance regarding the tax implications and risks/opportunities of various key business decisions. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator who will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

As an important member of the team, we expect that this role will cover a variety of compliance and advisory work, across a range of Corporate Tax, VAT/GST and Employment Taxes, with the specifics of the role determined by the experience of the individual.

The role will primarily focus on UK tax matters for our Moonbug and Candle Studios businesses, but will also cover other jurisdictions, including but not limited to US, Singapore, Korea, Australia, Israel, Canada & the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the current International Tax Director, and wider Candle US Tax Team, with ensuring that all entities meet their compliance requirements and obligations, for Corporate Taxes and VAT/GST filing and remittance obligations across all jurisdictions.
• Maintaining schedule of tax filing obligations
• Maintaining schedule of taxes due, tax payments made, and tax refunds due
• Supporting the preparation of Tax Provisions for local country GAAP Accounting Purposes.
• Supporting the Candle US Team and broader finance team with implementation of transfer pricing policies.
• Providing tax advisory support including but not limited to;

1. M&A transactions (tax due diligence, structuring, post-acquisition integration)
2. Corporate restructuring projects
3. Performing tax technical research on relevant issues
4. Documenting the Company’s tax positions and processes
5. Supporting the Studios team in claiming Production Tax Credits
6. Analysing withholding tax implications on cross border payments
7. Tax controversy / tax audit support

• Working with our advisors across compliance and advisory projects.
• Identifying opportunities to automate processes and reduce reliance on external advisors where needed.
• Carrying out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading.

• Technically proficient, dynamic and motivated tax specialist
• ACA/ ACCA/ ATT / CTA Qualified (or near qualified)
• Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills with a proactive approach
• Ability to research and understand areas of tax outside of current experience
• Team player, that works well with others and is keen to take ownership of projects
• Experience with multinational companies in the media and entertainment industry
