SBM Management is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to manage and direct the organization's technological objectives. The CIO will establish long-term plans, create a technical vision, and oversee the implementation of new projects. Responsibilities include advising on major plans, working with product development, sales, and marketing to assess new technologies, reviewing operational results, and creating technical budgets. The role also involves planning mergers and acquisitions from a technical standpoint, managing communications, analyzing new technologies, and representing the organization publicly. Travel is required. The CIO will manage subordinate supervisors and employees in the IT department, overseeing direction, coordination, and performance, including hiring, training, and conflict resolution. Budget management and productivity optimization are key. A Master's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with knowledge of various software systems.

Position at SBM Management

SBM Management is looking to hire a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join their team!  This position manages and directs the organization toward its primary technological objectives, based on long-term product and profitability goals, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies, subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
  • Creates a technical vision for the company and plans for implementation of new technical projects or product lines.
  • Dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and Board approval.
  • Works with product development, sales, and marketing to discern the competitiveness of new technologies.
  • Reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives and takes steps to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Creates technical budgets, allocates resources, and determines the schedule of product releases or project deadlines.
  • Plans and directs all investigations and negotiations about technical aspects of mergers, joint ventures, acquisition of businesses, or sales of major assets, with approval of the Board of Directors.
  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
  • Analyzes new technologies and runs competitive analyses.
  • Represents the organization with major customers, shareholders, and the public.
  • Some travel will be required for this position.
  • Manages three subordinate supervisors who supervise 4+ employees in the IT.
  • Is responsible for these units' overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Also directly supervises one non-supervisory employee.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization'1s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manages department budget. Understands cost drivers for human capital and creative solutions to manage productivity.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Accounting software, Contact Management systems, Design software, Human Resource systems, Payroll systems, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
