Job Description

The Competitiveness and Transformation Manager at Fluence will drive cross-functional strategy and transformation projects across the company's global businesses. This role involves managing projects, acting as a strategic advisor to management, and facilitating stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities include driving change management, supporting continuous improvement of project management, and contributing to Fluence's competitiveness by focusing on cost reduction and product differentiation. The manager will also prepare and moderate meetings with top management stakeholders. The position requires a diligent and motivated individual with strong organizational and people skills.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years experience in consulting or a high-paced environment.
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders including board level.
  • Strong knowledge of market participants and energy markets globally.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Demonstrated business judgment and individual initiative.
Good to have:
  • MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience in cost-out opportunity identification and execution.
  • Experience as a project manager in the energy sector.

COMPETITIVENESS AND TRANSFORMATION MANAGER


LOCATION:

Arlington, VA. Hybrid position in office 2-3 days per week.


ABOUT THE POSITION: 

Fluence is seeking a passionate individual committed to using their talents to solve the most challenging and important problems of our time; helping to transform the way we power our world and accelerate a sustainable energy future. 


Fluence seeks a Competitiveness and Transformation Manager to drive cross-functional strategy and transformation projects across Fluence’s Global businesses.

We are looking for a diligent, motivated, and experienced Manager with strong ownership for topics, self-organization and people skills.

You will be responsible for managing several cross-functional projects with high relevancy and strong exposure to our top management. You will actively contribute Fluence’s competitiveness with a focus on cost-out and product differentiation. Furthermore, you will prepare, host, and moderate operative as well as strategic meetings with top management stakeholders from regional and central organizations.


Reporting to the Senior Manager of Competitiveness, the Competitiveness and Transformation Manager will gain the responsibilities to:

•Lead and manage cross-functional and cross-regional strategy and transformation projects with high impact on Fluence’s business. 

•Act as sparrings partner for Fluence’s management on strategic and competitiveness question.

•Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication, providing regular updates to top management.

•Drive change management activities, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and practices across the organization.

•Support the continuous improvement of project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices within the organization.


What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

•3-5 years' experience in a Consulting role or another high-paced environment with strong track record of success.

•Experience in managing senior stakeholders up to board level. 

•Strong knowledge of market participants, stakeholder landscape, and energy markets globally.

•The preferred candidate should have MBA or advanced degree and demonstrate strong analytical capability.

•Demonstrated experience in cost-out opportunity identification and execution; competitive analysis; financial and differentiation target setting; preferred experience either at a Strategy Consultancy or as Project Manager for a relevant corporate player in the energy sector.

•Strong presentation and interpersonal skills required. The candidate should be capable of creating compelling arguments and communicating them to various internal audiences.

•Demonstrated business judgment and individual initiative. 

•Demonstrated strong ownership and ability to work with minimal supervision.

•Ability to work dynamically and cross functionally within teams spanning both the regional organizations and the global functions in a fast-moving technical business environment.

•Possess an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done.

•Exhibit a forward leaning posture, high ownership, and diligent pursuit of new opportunities.


$140,000 - $175,000 a year
Actual compensation is based on experience and candidate location.
