Company Overview
Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing defense autonomy at sea. We develop advanced autonomous surface vessels that enhance maritime operations for the Department of Defense (DoD) through cutting-edge, intelligent platforms. Our team combines traditional marine design expertise with the latest in autonomy and system integration to accelerate innovation in national defense.
Position Summary
We are hiring a Configuration Manager focused on PLM/PDM architecture and implementation to lead the technical buildout of our Teamcenter environment and the digital thread that spans design, engineering, manufacturing, and sustainment. This role is responsible for deep technical development in Teamcenter—including data model customization, integrations, and scripting—as well as the overall strategy for how product data flows across tools and teams.
The ideal candidate has been a Teamcenter administrator or developer and understands how PDM systems fit within broader engineering and manufacturing environments. You should be comfortable working across both front-end and back-end development, partnering with IT and engineering, and driving long-term architecture while shipping incremental improvements every sprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and customize the Teamcenter environment (BMIDE, workflows, access control, change processes, integrations)
- Extend functionality using ITK, Java, Python, SQL, and configure Active Workspace and Rich Client experiences
- Govern CAD integration and structuring standards for NX and SolidWorks (master modeling, interface control models, PMI, MBD)Build and maintain the digital thread from EBOM → MBOM, MES, and ERP systems
- Collaborate with IT on network architecture, authentication (SSO/AD), and system infrastructure
- Design and execute system roadmaps aligned to quarterly sprints and annual capability goals
- Manage product data structures, workflows, and version control across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing domains
- Support implementation of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and interface with SysML/architecture tools as needed
- Define and deliver practical, lightweight configuration control aligned with program speed and rigor
- Help shape the future of how product data moves and evolves in a rapidly scaling environment
- 5+ years of experience with Teamcenter administration, configuration, and customization
- Proficiency in ITK, Java, Python, SQL, and related Teamcenter customization tools (handlers, Query Builder, AWC config)
- Deep familiarity with PLM data modeling and structure management (items, MBOM, EBOM, datasets, revisions)
- Experience managing integrations between PLM, CAD, MES, and ERP systems
- Strong understanding of CAD model governance and digital product definitions (NX, SolidWorks)
- Track record of implementing change control, release workflows, and BOM transformation logic
- Ability to build long-term roadmaps while executing day-to-day development and support tasks
- Comfortable engaging directly with information technology, including certificates, hosting, and backups across teams
- Clear written and verbal communication, particularly when defining technical boundaries
Nice To Have
- Experience with other PLM systems (Windchill, 3DX, Arena)
- Familiarity with MBSE tools and SysML (e.g. Cameo, Capella)
- Basic familiarity with software configuration best practices, DevOps, or infrastructure-as-code principlesExposure to configuration management standards (EIA-649, ASME Y14.5, ISO 9001/2768)
- Understanding of multi-disciplinary product development (mechanical, electrical, embedded systems)
What This Role Is Not
- Not a helpdesk or support-only position, you will be expected to architect, build, and lead PLM capabilities, not triage tickets
- Not a CAD librarian or draftsman role, though you’ll set up CAD governance and integrations, this is not focused on day-to-day drawing management
- Not a pure process owner, you’ll be hands-on in both code and configuration; we’re looking for a technical leader, not a paper pusher
- Not just Teamcenter maintenance, you’ll define how data moves across the company, not just keep the lights on
