Bounteous is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead User Experience Designer to join its growing team. This pivotal role requires hands-on UX expertise with a deep understanding of the full UX lifecycle, from research and strategy to high-fidelity prototyping and usability testing. The designer will be responsible for crafting data-driven, human-centered solutions with a cross-functional team, driving experience strategy, and executing UX activities and deliverables.
Must have:
  • 5-8 years of experience as a UX professional
  • 2+ years at a digital-first agency or consultancy
  • Strong background in human factors, information architecture, and user-centered design methodology
  • Proven experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops, and presenting work to clients
  • Expertise with responsive and mobile design, design systems, and accessibility best practices
  • Proficiency in Figma, Usability Testing Tools (Userlytics, Optimal Workshop), and Microsoft Office
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of UX projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Effective communicator with all levels of leadership, management, and staff
  • Articulate a clear experience strategy and user-centered approach
  • Facilitate discovery activities such as workshops, stakeholder interviews, user research, heuristic reviews, audits, competitive reviews
  • Lead and create deliverables including personas, journeys, user flows, service blueprints, process flows, use case diagrams, wireframes, prototypes
  • Plan and conduct user testing methodologies (e.g., usability testing, card sorting, content testing, preference testing)
  • Advocate for and implement accessibility best practices
  • Present and articulate design solutions, rationale, and research findings to stakeholders
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level UX designers
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers
  • Contribute to new business development efforts

We're seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead User Experience Designer to join our growing team. This pivotal role requires hands-on UX expertise with a deep understanding of the full UX lifecycle, from research and strategy to high-fidelity prototyping and usability testing. As lead UX contributor on projects, you will be responsible for crafting data-driven, human-centered solutions with a cross-functional team.

BS/BA or Advanced Degree: A degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Library Science, Graphic Design, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 5-8 years of experience as a UX professional, with 2+ years at a digital-first agency or consultancy required.

UX Fundamentals: A strong background in human factors, information architecture, and user-centered design methodology.

Workshop and Interview Facilitation: Proven experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, facilitating workshops, and presenting work to clients.

Technical Proficiency: Expertise with responsive and mobile design, design systems, and accessibility best practices.

Soft Skills: The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities. You must be an effective communicator with all levels of leadership, management, and staff to achieve desired outcomes and build strong alliances and relationships.

Tools: Proficiency in Figma, Usability Testing Tools (i.e. Userlytics, Optimal Workshop), and Microsoft Office.

Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of UX projects, including research, strategy, and wireframes, information architecture, and user flows.

Information Security Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
  • Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
  • Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information

Role and Responsibilities

  • Drive Experience Strategy: Articulate a clear experience strategy and user-centered approach grounded in discovery outputs, research, business, and audience needs
  • Hands-on Execution of UX Activities and Deliverables: Facilitate discovery activities with limited oversight such as workshops, stakeholder interviews, user research, heuristic reviews, audits, competitive reviews, etc.
  • Lead and create supporting deliverables and documentation including personas, journeys, user flows, service blueprints, process flows, use case diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, etc.
  • Plan and conduct appropriate user testing methodologies (e.g. usability testing, card sorting, content testing, preference testing, etc.)
  • Advocate for and implement accessibility best practices to ensure people with disabilities can access and effectively utilize websites & products.
  • Client & Stakeholder Presentation & Management: Present and articulate design solutions, rationale, and research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You'll build strong, collaborative relationships with clients.
  • UX Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior and mid-level UX designers. Provide constructive feedback, foster a culture of design excellence, and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure seamless execution and delivery of projects. You'll advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Consultancy Growth: Contribute to new business development efforts by participating in client pitches, crafting proposals, and representing the company's UX capabilities.
