The uLearn squad at Thales is seeking an Application Engineer to manage their Group Learning Management System, Cornerstone. This role is crucial for ensuring the application's evolution and integrity, while providing comprehensive technical support to end and key users. The engineer will offer expert advice on Cornerstone application choices, participate in functional and technical decisions, and oversee solution integration and roll-out. Responsibilities also include capitalizing knowledge, collaborating within an Agile (Scrum) team, and driving change management initiatives to educate users and communicate updates, ultimately enhancing system efficiency and user experience.
Must have:
  • Provide technical support to end and key users via Atlassian (Jira) or ServiceNow (Kiss).
  • Troubleshoot issues, answer queries, and guide users.
  • Offer expert advice on Cornerstone application choices.
  • Participate in functional and technical solution integration and roll-out.
  • Maintain team knowledge and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members in an Agile (Scrum) environment.
  • Drive change management through user education and communication.
  • Hold a degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Possess a minimum of five years technical IT experience in service/application management.
  • Demonstrate support experience and ability to communicate technical information.
  • Experience in Learning Management System or HR system management.
  • Proficiency in HTML and Javascript programming.
  • Experience establishing and following processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Agile and/or Lean methodologies.
  • Strong customer focus and good time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for a global environment.
  • Ability to work independently within a global team.
  • Strong analytical and technical competence.
  • Essential English language skills.
Good to have:
  • Expert advice and experience on LXP implementation/integration.
  • ITIL certification and experience with ITIL based operational processes.

The uLearn squad (who manages the Thales Group Learning Management System tool “Cornerstone”) needs an application engineer who will ensure evolutions & integrity of the application inheritance, will provide technical support to the end & Key users.

Mission:

  • Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric approach are essential for success in this role.
  • Provide Technical Support: assist end or key users by addressing technical issues via various channels Like Atlassian (Jira) or ServiceNow (Kiss). Issue troubleshooting, answer queries, and user guidance.
  • Provides expert advice on the Cornerstone application choices.
  • Participate to functional and technical choices, integration and roll out of solutions
  • Capitalize knowledge in the knowledge base: Maintain team knowledge & related documentation
  • Agile methodology: Based on scrum, during the sprints review, collaborate with other team members to ensure they fully comprehend the business needs, assess progress, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Driving Change: change management by educating users, creating tutorials, and communicating application updates.
  • Optional: providing expert advice and experience on LXP implementation/integration would be a plus

Prerequisite & Skills:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related degree, or equivalent directly related experience.
  • A minimum of five years technical (IT) exposure/experience in the management of services or applications.
  • Support experience and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in Learning Management System / HR system management.
  • HTML and javascript programming.
  • Experience in establishing new processes and procedures as well as following those already in place and always looking for improvements.
  • Preferably experience with Agile and/or Lean methodologies.
  • Recommended: ITIL certification and experience with ITIL based operational processes an advantage.
  • Application Lifecycle Management.
  • Configuration of COTS (Commercial off-the-shelf software)
