- Directs a research team to create generative, iterative, and evaluative projects for development of technology, intellectual property, and product lifecycle, including upfront research and discovery, definition, and analysis of requirements meeting organization's goals.
- Guides, directs, and evaluates completion of tasks and projects and oversees interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
- Collaborates and works across teams to propose and develop concepts that advance the entire product pipeline.
- Researches technological trends, collaborates with industry, academic, industry standardization, product, and technical groups to address important technology and customer issues and find innovative solutions to difficult problems for midterm or long term time frames.
- Builds, leads, mentors, inspires, and enables hardware and systems research teams.
- Responsible for enabling teams to execute through clear goal setting, facilitating work, maintaining accountability, applying differentiated performance management, and driving team results.
- Drives results by inspiring people, role modeling Intel values, developing the capabilities of others, and ensuring a productive work environment.
Qualifications:
Hardware Design & Architecture:
- Direct experience with rack-level hardware design for data center and GPU systems, including mechanical, thermal, and electrical integration.
- Deep understanding of AI Data Center Rack architecture, building blocks, and system-level design considerations.
- Hands-on experience with rack infrastructure components: power distribution, cooling systems, cable management, and structural design.
- Knowledge of BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) integration and rack management protocols and telemetry collection, monitoring systems, and rack-level diagnostics will be a plus.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong technical skills in embedded systems design and integration within rack environments.
- Understanding of orchestration & automation systems for rack deployment and management.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure standards and cloud architecture principles.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation.
Problem Solving & Leadership:
- Excellent analytical thinking for identifying design risks, thermal challenges, and developing robust engineering mitigations.
- Proven ability to optimize rack designs for performance, reliability, and serviceability.
Collaboration & Influence:
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across hardware, firmware, and operations teams.
- Proven track record of guiding technical decisions and influencing design direction within diverse, cross-functional engineering teams.
