Impact

As a Data Scientist on the Final Mile Delivery team, you will be responsible for analyzing and improving every aspect of the delivery journey- from shopper supply and route efficiency to demand patterns and delivery outcomes. You’ll uncover trends, identify pain points, and surface opportunities to make final mile delivery faster, more reliable, and more seamless for both members and drivers. Every week you will work hands on with Tableau to build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track logistics and marketplace health. You will conduct deep-dive analyses into delivery performance, driver supply and demand dynamics and use SQL and Python daily for analysis, statistical modeling and experimentation.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• Professional experience with Tableau or PowerBI
• Strong professional experience with SQL and working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience with Python or R for deeper analysis and experimentation.
• Proven ability to frame logistics, delivery, or marketplace problems as structured analytical questions.
• A passion for deeply researching and understanding data—you’re naturally curious, love digging into details, and think in terms of cause and effect.

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay range:

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Seattle and New York City:

$83,300-$166,800

Metro Areas of Los Angeles and San Francisco:

$118,657.43-$166,800

All other locations:

$73,900-$147,900

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
