JOB OVERVIEW
Plan A Technologies is looking for a highly skilled Deployment Architect with extensive Kubernetes expertise to support the upcoming project launch. This is a critical initiative, and we require someone who can immediately contribute to deployment strategy, infrastructure orchestration, and ensure seamless scalability and reliability.
Please note: you must have at least 7+ years of experience with Kubernetes and strong experience with deployment strategies to be considered for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Deployment Strategy & Orchestration: Design, implement, and optimize Kubernetes-based deployment strategies across AWS, Nutanix, and air-gapped on-premises environments.
- Best Practices Implementation: Establish and enforce industry best practices for Kubernetes configuration, cluster provisioning, and application deployment.
- Resource Optimization: Define and right-size application resources (CPU, memory, storage) to ensure efficiency and performance across varied environments.
- Consulting & Collaboration: Act as a consultant to guide internal teams, upskill staff, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Migration & Upgrades: Lead Kubernetes infrastructure upgrades and migration initiatives, including blue-green deployments and in-place upgrades.
- Observability & Monitoring: Define what a healthy system looks like, implement monitoring strategies with Grafana, System Watch 5, and other tools, and set thresholds for warnings vs. critical alerts.
- Disaster Recovery & Troubleshooting: Develop and implement robust disaster recovery plans; troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and deep knowledge of cluster provisioning, scaling (horizontal/vertical), and deployment strategies.
- 5+ years working with AWS, Nutanix, and hybrid/air-gapped on-premises deployments.
- Experience provisioning and managing Kubernetes using AWS EKS.
- Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ, Redis in production environments.
- Hands-on experience of Crio, Istio, Rook Ceph, Morpheus, Grafana, and System Watch 5.
- Strong experience defining CPU, memory, and storage allocations for enterprise-scale applications.
- Experience Blue-Green Deployments, leading migration strategies and implementing in-place upgrades in Kubernetes environments.
- Strong experience defining metrics, implementing dashboards, and maintaining observability in complex systems.
- Solid understanding of designing recovery strategies and leading system restoration efforts.
- Mentoring teams, conducting knowledge transfer, and aligning cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
