Job Description

The Director of Audience for Vogue will lead all audience growth and engagement efforts for Vogue US, Vogue Runway & Vogue Business. This individual will report to the Editor of Vogue.com and partner closely with our Global Director of Social and the Global Director of Audience at Vogue. This role will serve as a strategic connector across all teams at Condé Nast by advocating for audience priorities and ensuring alignment with Vogue’s global and US KPIs. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in SEO, newsletter, community engagement, content analytics, social strategy and other audience initiatives; while using data-driven insights to inform and guide strategy across Vogue’s key distribution channels. This role blends high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution, covering social and search strategies, partnerships, email campaigns, performance reporting, and driving commerce growth & subscriptions. The successful candidate will be both analytical and creative with a keen ability to translate data into actionable strategies that drive audience growth and brand impact.
Must have:
  • Drive audience development initiatives across Vogue.com, Vogue Business, and Vogue Runway with a focus on newsletters, partnerships, SEO, and other organic distribution channels including social.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all audience development priorities maintaining open lines of communication across editorial, product, technology, commerce, commercial and marketing teams.
  • Partner with editors to ensure content is optimized for all major distribution channels (including search, social, and newsletters).
  • Collaborate with product and technology teams to enhance performance at key traffic-driving moments.
  • Provide insights and content recommendations during breaking news & key editorial moments.
  • Develop and manage an ongoing testing strategy across audience funnels.
  • Lead organic promotion strategies for major Vogue tentpole events.
  • Partner with editorial leadership to evolve the newsletter portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the commerce team to ensure content is strategically distributed.
  • Identify emerging opportunities for audience engagement.
  • Conduct regular analysis of competitors and audience behavior to surface trends, inform future strategy, and uncover growth opportunities across channels.

This role will serve as a strategic connector across all teams at Condé Nast by advocating for audience priorities and ensuring alignment with Vogue’s global and US KPIs. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in SEO, newsletter, community engagement, content analytics, social strategy and other audience initiatives; while using data-driven insights to inform and guide strategy across Vogue’s key distribution channels.

This role blends high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Responsibilities include everything from developing and optimizing social and search strategies to managing partnerships, overseeing email campaigns, reporting on performance, and driving commerce growth & subscriptions. The ideal candidate should be comfortable applying testing frameworks, analyzing internal and external insights and using competitive research to inform strategy; all while upholding Vogue’s voice, tone, and editorial standards.

A deep passion for and understanding of Vogue’s core topics is essential, as is the ability to operate at the intersection of editorial, audience development, project and product management, and consumer marketing. The successful candidate will be both analytical and creative with a keen ability to translate data into actionable strategies that drive audience growth and brand impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive audience development initiatives across Vogue.com, Vogue Business, and Vogue Runway with a focus on newsletters, partnerships, SEO, and other organic distribution channels including social.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all audience development priorities maintaining open lines of communication across editorial, product, technology, commerce, commercial and marketing teams. Clearly advocate for audience growth and engagement goals company-wide.
  • Partner with editors to ensure content is optimized for all major distribution channels (including search, social, and newsletters) and collaborate with product and technology teams to enhance performance at key traffic-driving moments.
  • Available to provide insights and content recommendations during breaking news & key editorial moments throughout the year with a holistic view of Vogue’s coverage to best optimize for traffic and engagement.
  • Develop and manage an ongoing testing strategy across audience funnels, including optimization of distribution mix, headlines, imagery, and other growth levers. Use insights to continuously refine strategies.
  • Lead organic promotion strategies for major Vogue tentpole events such as the Met Gala and Vogue World ensuring cohesive and timely execution across platforms and global markets.
  • Partner with editorial leadership to evolve the newsletter portfolio from concept development to performance testing. Run A/B tests to refine content, layout, and delivery for maximum reach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the commerce team to ensure content is strategically distributed across relevant platforms, aligned with editorial and business goals. Monitor and report on performance metrics.
  • Identify emerging opportunities for audience engagement that align with editorial vision. Propose and implement creative strategies to fill gaps and extend Vogue’s reach.
  • Conduct regular analysis of competitors and audience behavior to surface trends, inform future strategy, and uncover growth opportunities across channels.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of digital marketing or audience development experience with a major brand, publisher, digital advertising or marketing agency with a thorough understanding of online business models and strategies.
  • Proven ability in growing a brand and audiences across multiple platforms
  • Experience working with an editorial team and editorial calendar, and an understanding of content strategy including a good sense and understanding of the brand’s core values.
  • Hands-on experience managing digital audience acquisition programs
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present initiatives to creative and technical teams alike
  • Entrepreneurial, digitally savvy, creative and experimental in the approach to problem solving, with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Positive team player and an enthusiastic work ethic
  • Experience with SocialFlow, Sailthru, Parsley, Google Analytics and Dash Hudson is an advantage

The expected base salary range for this position is from $139,000-$167,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.

In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
