This is an Acting Commercial Operations Strategy Manager role for a 12-month fixed-term contract within Condé Nast's UK revenue team, focusing on the Travel & Lifestyle vertical. The role involves leading reporting across all platforms to identify revenue opportunities, monitoring performance, and providing analytical support to the Director of Operations and Head of Industry. It also acts as a liaison between Advertising and Editorial teams for digital projects and print editions.
Must have:
  • Reporting digital, video, print, events, and client revenue.
  • Continuously analysing revenue, identifying key opportunities and gaps across all platforms.
  • Updating and maintaining all sales pipelines.
  • Driving the commercial sales team to hit targets.
  • Ensuring all revenue is accounted for accurately each month.
  • Working in partnership to drive digital-first, cross-category business.
  • Managing the flat-plan for core titles print editions and supplements.
  • Working closely with Editorial teams on themes and sponsored supplements.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the Production department.
  • Supporting the Director of Operations (UK) and the Commercial Operations Strategy Manager.
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets/Docs/Slides.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Analytical thinker and numerically literate.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, resourceful, efficient, and proactive.
  • A team player.

The Role

We’re looking for an Acting Commercial Operations Strategy Manager for the Travel & Lifestyle vertical of Condé Nast on a 12 month FTC.

This is an important role within the UK revenue team, leading on reporting across all platforms to help identify and secure revenue opportunities for the Travel & Lifestyle Advertising Sales team. You’ll help the Director of Operations (UK) and Head of Industry monitor performance and drive excellence among the team, providing sharp analysis and all-round support. The Commercial Operations Strategy Manager is also a key pivot between Advertising and Editorial, liaising with our Editorial teams on digital projects and print editions.

The ideal candidate will be a personable, resourceful, and confident individual who is extremely well organised, able to multitask and to stay calm under pressure. You should have a razor-sharp analytical mind and have excellent skills with Excel, Google Workspace/Drive apps. A keen interest in Travel, Food & Beverage and Health industries, communications and marketing is preferable.

What will you be doing?

  • Reporting digital, video, print, events, and client revenue into the Director of Operations (UK), with a dotted line into the Head of Industry.
  • Continuously analysing revenue, identifying key opportunities and gaps across all platforms.
  • Updating and maintaining all sales pipelines.
  • Driving the commercial sales team to hit targets, through continuous compilation of competitor analysis and assisting with anything needed to pitch business to clients and agencies.
  • Ensuring all revenue is being accounted for accurately each month, by chasing for all orders/revenue to be committed by the end of the month.
  • Working in partnership with the Director of Operations (UK) and the other Commercial Operations Strategy Manager to help drive the company’s efforts towards a digital-first, cross-category business.
  • Managing the flat-plan for core titles print editions and supplements.
  • Working closely with Editorial teams, liaising on upcoming editorial themes and stories and sponsored supplements liaison across digital, video, print and events.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the Production department, liaising on all production elements for print edition and other printed commercial projects.
  • Supporting the Director of Operations (UK) and the Commercial Operations Strategy Manager during holiday, sickness, or for elevated pieces of work as required.
  • Open to continuous learning and adapting to cross-platform business changes as the company evolves and requires change.
