Cineplex is seeking a dynamic Director of Marketing to lead and own the full marketing lifecycle for Cineplex Pictures, our in-house film distribution arm. As Head of Marketing for Cineplex Pictures, you will be responsible for driving strategy, execution, and measurement for all integrated marketing and publicity campaigns across our feature film releases in both English and French markets.
From major theatrical campaigns and strategic media buys to local partnerships, festival promotions, and publicity stunts, you’ll oversee every facet of how our titles come to life in theatres across the country.
🎬 What You’ll Do
- Lead the planning and execution of end-to-end marketing and publicity campaigns for Cineplex Pictures film releases.
- Collaborate with the Head of Distribution to develop impactful strategies that cover internal promotions, social media, traditional and digital advertising, partnerships, and PR.
- Oversee and guide external PR agencies to deliver compelling publicity and promotional plans tailored to each release.
- Manage agency partners and suppliers to develop marketing creative for both English and French Canada, including localization and culturally resonant campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with exhibition partners to align and communicate upcoming release plans.
- Create campaign performance reports and post-mortems, analyzing ROI and summarizing key insights and learnings.
- Ensure all materials align with the vision of filmmakers, sales agents, and the broader distribution strategy.
- Identify new media opportunities to raise awareness and secure earned media coverage.
✅ What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in integrated marketing, with a mandatory background in film or film distribution.
- Proven experience developing and executing campaigns that leverage research, analytics, and media insights.
- Strong understanding of media strategy, creative production workflows, and digital campaign management.
- Experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders and managing external agency relationships.
- A confident and collaborative marketing leader with strong project management and campaign execution skills.
- Comfortable navigating film festivals, industry events, and high-pressure campaign launches.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of leading strategy conversations and creative reviews.
- Deep understanding of Canada’s media and entertainment landscape — including traditional, digital, social, and experiential channels.
- Strong budgeting skills, including experience developing P&A (Print & Advertising) plans.
- Bilingualism (English/French) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Telefilm, Canadian content guidelines, and the Quebec market is a strong asset.
- Solution-oriented, hands-on, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
