Job Description

This position is responsible for using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, and work instructions to correctly assemble components. The job involves following detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures. Responsibilities include assembling components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies, and maintaining a clean and safe workplace. The role requires attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, operating within standard operating procedures, and performing other duties as assigned. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform detailed, precise hand movements.

Summary: This position is responsible for using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble components.

Regular schedule is Monday – Thursday: 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Variations on this schedule will be communicated upon hire.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 5S protocol.
  • Make sure that schedules are being run exactly as they are listed.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Turn off equipment when not in use.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Disassembles components by utilizing hand and power tools
  • Cleans and buffs components.
  • Hand wash components with soap & degreaser on parts washer.
  • Blowout parts to remove soap and degreaser plus dirt and debris.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and requirements:

•    High school degree or equivalent preferred.
•    Knowledge of basic mechanics.
•    Knowledge of machine testing procedures.


Other skills and qualifications
•    Basic use of hand/power tools
•    Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
•    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
•    Perform the same task repeatedly.

  • The employee will generally work in a temperature-controlled production environment, with frequent exposure to office and electronic testing equipment, as well as other environmental factors.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $21.00/hr.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com.
