About the team and role:
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to run Cloud Security’s engineering team responsible for building security and privacy (tokenization) infrastructure and services.
This is a fun and driven team of engineers ranging from junior to principal who are aligned on a mission and solving extremely challenging problems at internet scale.
This team is responsible for building platform capabilities in the area of privacy and security that help eBay meet our regulatory requirements and enable our other engineering teams to support our security and privacy programs with as little friction as possible.
Serve in a leadership role, helping to build the road map and set the direction for our engineering efforts, analyze and breakdown down business requirements into phases of implementation.
Participate in the recruiting process as we build out our security and privacy engineering staff. Day to day, participate in our agile software development process, writing software to support our security, privacy and compliance efforts.
What You Will Accomplish:
As a security leader, you will own building and managing a team of IC security engineers as well as expected to manage other manager level employees in the org, encouraging a strong team culture, helping them develop their skills and their careers as you tackle those challenges and contribute to eBay’s overall security and privacy strategy.
You will lead, manage, and develop a team of privacy and security engineers in the cloud security organization responsible for delivering platform capabilities that are consumed by all eBay engineering teams.
Lead and coordinate engineering activities to successfully plan, communicate and deliver on product features on time while designing for quality, observability and scalability.
Provide technical expertise and software engineering mentorship to automate processes and improve team efficiency.
Balance managing technical debt with new feature development and business priorities
Ensure full software lifecycle instrumentation from requirement ideation to software development to deployment.
Collaborate with Cloud engineering, Global Information Security, Privacy, Product and PMO to balance resources and project schedules and maintain transparent communication across all levels of the organization as well as actively participate in all phases of growing the engineering organization through recruiting, team building, etc.
What You Will Bring:
Prefer 12+ years in the industry working on security, privacy, and/or engineering with 4+ years of management experience.
Deep experience and understanding with Identity and Tokenization and managing these domains.
Experience working on a large scale multi-functional security and/or privacy projects.
Great with communicating critical updates to organizational leaders.
Experience in all three areas of security, privacy, and engineering.
Experience supporting medium or large tech organizations.
Experience working in large global teams with many moving parts.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
$168,400 - $262,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
