The Field Service Technician will work in a specific region to resolve, identify, and provide excellent customer service solutions, focusing on electrical and mechanical efficiency of outdoor power equipment, especially electrical and computer-based troubleshooting. They will also train and support dealers/distributors. This role requires 80-90% travel during peak season, potentially including international travel.
Must have:
  • Provide technical service and maintenance support at customer locations
  • Install, maintain, and repair equipment out in the field, with potential travel throughout the Southeast Region
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Manage time effectively with the ability to prioritize workload demands
  • Provide technical training in-person, digitally, or with written programs when necessary
  • Follow all company procedures, including code of conduct, safety practices, and policies
  • Support Customer Service with Sales Force activated action items hourly/daily and complete daily reports
  • Maintain a service vehicle and adhere to the Greenworks Vehicle Policy
  • Understand, facilitate, and coordinate all efforts regarding the A3S / Greenworks Fleet Connect (remote product support)
  • Education from a technical school in Automobile Repair, Electromechanical Maintenance, or similar field and/or 3 years' work experience with electric/battery operating equipment and systems
  • Advanced mechanical and electronic knowledge
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting equipment and systems identifying issues to determine the root cause
  • Proficiency in the operation of various measuring tools and instruments, including multimeter, clamp meter, temp. recorder, AC/DC power source
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Proficient communication skills (verbal and written) with conflict resolution ability
  • Proven track record on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) driving results

Position Summary:

The Field Service Technician is a team member assigned to a specific region to work collaboratively to resolve, identify, and provide excellent customer service solutions while concentrating on electrical and mechanical efficiency of various outdoor power equipment. Special attention will be placed on electrical and computer-based trouble shooting skills. When not conducting customer resolution assistance, the Field Service Technician will provide training and support to dealers/distributors. This position requires 80-90% of travel at peak season to fully engage in customer service and repairs of all Greenworks products. This position may require international travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical service and maintenance support at customer locations.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment out in the field. Potential travel throughout the Southeast Region.
  • Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions.
  • Effective time management with ability to prioritize workload demands.
  • Provide technical training in-person, digitally, or with written programs when necessary.
  • Following all company procedures while representing Greenworks: code of conduct, safety practices, and policies.
  • Support Customer Service with Sales Force activated action items hourly / daily. Complete daily reports which will report issues and resolutions to problems in the field.
  • Maintain a service vehicle and adhere to the Greenworks Vehicle Policy.
  • Responsible for understanding, facilitating, and coordinating all efforts in regard to the A3S / Greenworks Fleet Connect (remote product support).
  • Performs all other duties as requested.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Education from a technical school majoring in Automobile Repair, Electromechanical Maintenance, or another similar field and/or 3 years' work experience with electric/battery operating equipment and systems.
