IMC is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst for its Financial Planning & Analysis team. The role involves delivering business impact through financial analysis and reporting, managing budgeting, forecasting, and monthly cost reporting. The analyst will collaborate with senior leaders to provide financial insights for decision-making. Key responsibilities include generating monthly financial reports and dashboards, analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), reviewing cost reports with business units, assisting with the annual budget process, conducting variance analysis, forecasting, scenario modeling, creating insightful presentations, improving financial processes, and developing financial models. The position requires strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills, with a dedication to confidentiality and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Data Analytics
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools
  • Experience automating financial reporting processes
  • Ability to mine large data sets and identify trends
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good to have:
  • Experience in trading, investment banking, hedge funds, or asset management
  • Working knowledge of SQL or similar tools
  • Experience retrieving data from ERP systems (e.g., Workday)
  • Experience using a budget and forecasting tool (e.g., Adaptive Planning)
  • Professional accounting/finance designation (MBA, CPA, CFA)

Job Details

IMC is seeking a talented Financial Reporting Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team.  In this role, you will deliver business impact through financial analysis and reporting and you will manage several key finance functions including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly cost reporting.  You will work closely with senior leaders across the firm to provide financial insights that directly impact business decision-making.  

Key Responsibilities: 
•    Generate and deliver monthly financial reporting and dashboards to internal stakeholders
•    Analyze and report on various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and financial performance metrics, including P&L, return metrics, etc. and identify the cause of any unexpected variances
•    Review monthly cost reporting with individual trading business units, highlighting changes and providing insights
•    Assist with managing the annual budget process, coordinating across several teams and communicating updates to internal stakeholders
•    Conduct variance analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling to support strategic planning
•    Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively support decision making
•    Contribute ongoing improvements to budgeting, financial projections, and operating cash flow forecasting processes
•    Gain strong knowledge of internal financial data and act as a subject matter expert to provide additional insights 
•    Develop and maintain financial models and perform data-driven analysis to support trading, strategic initiatives, and operations

Required Skills & Experience: 
•    3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within trading, investment banking, hedge funds, or asset management
•    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
•    Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
•    Proficiency working with data analytics and visualization tools (Qlik Sense preferred) and working knowledge of SQL or similar tools  
•    Previous experience automating financial reporting processes
•    Experience retrieving, consolidating and analyzing data from ERP systems (i.e., Workday)
•    Ability to mine large sets of data from multiple data sources to identify trends/variances and to structure sophisticated reports and financial models for decision support
•    Experience using a budget and forecasting tool (i.e., Adaptive Planning) to build out budget models
•    Professional accounting/finance designation (MBA, CPA, CFA, etc.) is a plus
•    Dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to highly sensitive information
•    Strong analytical and quantitative skills
•    Outstanding organizational skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy
•    An entrepreneurial, driven mindset; excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The Base Salary range for the role is included below.
