Job Description

The Forklift Operator I is responsible for moving materials from inventory to production and back, maintaining accurate paperwork and records. They provide production departments with materials according to schedules, move materials between stations, and pack finished goods. They also move finished goods to storage, assist production as needed, and perform preventive maintenance. This role involves completing equipment checklists, organizing inventory yards, and adhering to company policies. The position requires basic education, with forklift driving experience preferred, along with a working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques. The responsibilities include operating a forklift safely and efficiently to support manufacturing processes, ensuring materials are available when needed, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The role also involves participating in safety and CI programs.

Job Details

Job Summary Forklift Operator I is responsible for the movement of material from inventory to production and back to inventory. Maintains correct paperwork and production records as required. Provides production departments with material from inventory according to production schedule. Principle Duties and Responsibilities * Moves material in process from one station to another if necessary * Bands, wraps and/or packs finished goods, and labels material * Moves finished goods from production area to finished goods inventory yard or warehouse * Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs * Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment * Completes pre-shift startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns * Maintains rough material and finished goods inventory yard organized and clean * Completes production records as required * Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy * Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings * Performs other duties as required Compensation & Benefit Information: Hourly Pay Range:  $18.00 + per hour depending on experience*                 *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living  Bonus/Incentive Pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses.  A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
