Job Description

This position will focus primarily on developing a prototype to enhance the ease of use of our Simulation and Generative Design offerings in Fusion. You will leverage internal AI tools to simplify parts and assemblies to make our Simulation and Generative Design offerings easier to use. You will be part of a team that is focusing on improving the reach of our tools by leveraging your computer science skills and interest in solving real-world mechanical engineering problems. As an intern you will be involved in developing an understanding of different technology stacks, prototyping simplification workflows using internal AI tools, and communicating research findings. Responsibilities include designing system architecture, implementing a prototype, evaluating its effectiveness, and collaborating with product teams.
Good To Have:
  • MS or PhD highly preferred
  • Familiarity with topology optimization and meshing techniques in the context of FEA analysis.
  • Interest solving complex mechanical engineering problems.
Must Have:
  • Full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent at an accredited program in the United States with at least one academic term to complete post internship to be eligible.
  • Familiarity with C++ and Python.
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Familiarity with RAG and LLMs.
  • Eagerness to learn.

Minimum Requirements

Salary Transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience, educational level, and geographic location, and can exceed this range.

For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting annualized intern base salary to be between:

  • $47,840 and $95,680 (undergraduate students)
  • $72,800 and $118,500 (Masters/MBA students)
  • $118,560 and $162,240 (PhD students)
