Job Description

The IT Pre-Sales Engineer will be responsible for engaging with clients, assessing IT environments, and developing tailored solution recommendations. They will prepare and present technical demos and proposals, collaborate with sales and engineering teams, draft proposals, and respond to RFPs/RFQs. The role also involves identifying customer pain points, staying updated on IT trends, and representing the team at client meetings. The engineer will need to translate technical concepts into simple business terms for non-technical audiences and assist the sales team. This position is with a managed service provider, requiring 3+ years of experience.
Must have:
  • Prior experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP) is required
  • Strong background in Microsoft platforms and services
  • Familiar with MSP tools and ITSM frameworks
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and concepts
  • Experience with data backup and disaster recovery technologies
  • Solid networking and system administration experience
  • Strong understanding of endpoint management and cloud platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 3+ years in pre-sales engineering, IT consulting, or similar role
Good to have:
  • IT Certifications are a huge plus

Salary: $100,000 – $125,000 (depending on experience)
Benefits: Full benefits
Type: Contract to Hire
Sponsorship Available: No – Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

 

Most Important:

  • Prior experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP) is required

  • Strong background in Microsoft platforms and services

  • Familiar with MSP tools and ITSM frameworks

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and concepts such as EDR, MDR, SOC, SIEM

  • Experience with data backup and disaster recovery technologies

  • Solid networking and system administration experience, particularly from a service delivery or technical support role

  • Strong understanding of endpoint management and cloud platforms/services

  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to translate technical concepts into simple business terms for non-technical audiences

  • 3+ years in pre-sales engineering, IT consulting, or similar role within the Managed Services industry

  • IT Certifications are a huge plus

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to engage with clients to assess IT environments and develop tailored solution recommendations

  • Skilled at preparing and presenting technical demos and proposals

  • Collaborative mindset – will work closely with sales and engineering teams to scope, align, and deliver custom IT service solutions

  • Must have experience drafting proposals and responding to RFPs/RFQs with technical accuracy

  • Capable of identifying customer pain points and matching them to the appropriate service or product solution

  • Up-to-date knowledge of modern IT trends, cybersecurity standards, and evolving managed services technologies

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the sales team to understand customer challenges and align them with our IT solutions

  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations that communicate value to potential clients

  • Develop scopes of work, pricing models, and solution outlines that align with business needs and service offerings

  • Assist in the development of proposals and accurate RFP responses

  • Translate complex technical offerings into business-oriented language that clients can understand

  • Support sales efforts by addressing technical questions and acting as a trusted advisor to prospects

  • Maintain deep understanding of our full catalog of IT Managed Services

  • Represent the team at client meetings, workshops, and events to promote solutions and build relationships

  • Stay current on industry trends and competitor offerings to ensure optimal client alignment and value delivery
