The Lab & Quality Assurance Manager will manage and coordinate all chemical analysis activities for production sites in TK Ham, Geleen & Rouen, leading a team of about 15 lab employees. Responsibilities include ensuring maximum precision in analysis, quality assurance for the TK Ham site, organizing audits, advising on safety, providing technical support to customers and SHE department, optimizing processes, implementing new analytical techniques, coaching the QC team, and defining and implementing quality strategy to meet standards like ISO 9001 and HACCP.
Must have:
  • Manage and coordinate chemical analysis activities for TK Ham, Geleen & Rouen production sites.
  • Lead a team of approximately 15 lab employees.
  • Ensure maximum precision at minimal cost for all sample analyses.
  • Responsible for quality assurance at TK Ham site and internal process functioning (SAP, LIMS, ISO, HACCP).
  • Organize and coordinate audits and set up document control via DocuQuest for TK Ham.
  • Advise on safety issues of processes and product hazards.
  • Provide technical support to customers and the SHE department.
  • Advise and support managers on process chemical technologies to optimize existing products/processes and develop new ones.
  • Monitor and implement new analytical techniques.
  • Coach and develop expertise within the QC team through training.
  • Organize daily QC work, motivate and train QC chemists, and guide students.
  • Define and implement quality strategy and policy to meet quality management standards (ISO 9001, MRM, G035, FAVV, HACCP).
  • Responsible for Q-meetings with stakeholders to address quality issues.
  • Advise on management and production aspects of existing products to ensure quality guideline compliance.
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of analytical, inorganic, industrial, environmental chemistry, and physics.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical techniques.
  • Knowledge of SAP and LIMS.
  • Thorough knowledge of various quality standards.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, both spoken and written.

Job Description

The Lab & Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all chemical analysis activities for the production sites TK Ham, Geleen & Rouen.

You will lead a team of approximately 15 lab employees.

You are responsible for:

  • Managing and coordinating analysis activities to ensure maximum precision at minimal cost for all samples originating from TCH production units and other TG departments such as R&D, Sales, Complaints, SHE, ...
  • Quality assurance at the TK Ham site and the proper functioning of internal processes (SAP, LIMS, ISO, HACCP in lab and production).
  • Organizing and coordinating audits and setting up document control via DocuQuest for the TK Ham site.
  • Advising on safety issues of processes and product hazards.
  • Technical support:
  • to the customer regarding product information and FAQs in collaboration with commercial services (Purchasing, Sales, Complaints, ...).
  • to the SHE department.
  • Advising and supporting managers in the field of process chemical technologies and engineering to optimize existing products and production processes and develop new products and processes while keeping technical knowledge up-to-date.
  • Monitoring new analytical techniques and implementing them.
  • Coaching the QC team in TK Ham and developing expertise within the team through education and training.
  • The daily organization of QC work, the motivation and training of QC chemists, and the guidance of students to optimize the added value of the QC department.
  • Determining and implementing the quality strategy and quality policy, so that all production and support processes comply with applicable quality management standards and that the necessary product registrations (ISO 9001, MRM, Sector Guide G035, FAVV, HACCP) are available to market TKH products.
  • Responsible for setting up Q-meetings with involved stakeholders to address quality issues and guide the organization towards appropriate solutions.
  • Advising on various aspects of the management and production of all existing products, to provide various departments with relevant input on quality matters and to ensure that these departments comply with quality guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • You have a Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of and a broad view on analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, industrial chemistry, environmental chemistry, and physics.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical techniques.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Thorough knowledge of various quality standards.
  • Fluent knowledge of English and Dutch, both speaking and writing.
