Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to act as both a technical authority and a strategic partner to our Head of Data and cross functionally across the business. This role is central to the health, performance, and future direction of our data platform. You’ll drive proactive optimization, ensuring our data stack is scalable, cost-efficient, and reliable. You’ll lead architectural decisions, solve complex technical challenges, and mentor senior engineers to deliver at the highest standard.
Must Have:
  • Design and implement next-generation data architecture.
  • Optimize for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks with robust, long-term solutions.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for critical infrastructure issues.
  • Own and evolve our data stack (Redshift, S3, Airbyte, Dagster, Kubernetes, dbt).
  • Work cross-functionally to design architecture builds and deliver technical roadmaps.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in Lead data engineering.
  • Proven success in designing and scaling data platforms.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in Dagster, Kubernetes and understanding of Redshift, S3, Airbyte, dbt.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Skilled in DevOps, automation, compliance (GDPR), and data audits.
  • Excellent communicator, able to simplify complexity and align stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to act as both a technical authority and a strategic partner to our Head of Data and cross functionally across the business. This role is central to the health, performance, and future direction of our data platform.

Instead of firefighting, you’ll drive proactive optimization, ensuring our data stack is scalable, cost-efficient, and reliable. Leveraging your expertise in Dagster, Kubernetes, Redshift, S3 and Airbyte you’ll lead architectural decisions, solve complex technical challenges, and mentor senior engineers to deliver at the highest standard.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement our next-generation data architecture.
  • Optimize for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks with robust, long-term solutions.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for critical infrastructure issues.
  • Own and evolve our data stack (Redshift, S3, Airbyte, Dagster, Kubernetes, dbt).
  • Work cross-functionally with department heads to design architecture builds and deliver technical roadmaps that align with business priorities.

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of professional experience in Lead data engineering.
  • Proven success in designing and scaling data platforms.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in Dagster, Kubernetes and understanding of Redshift, S3, Airbyte, dbt.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to influence technical direction.
  • Skilled in DevOps, automation, compliance (GDPR), and data audits.
  • Excellent communicator, able to simplify complexity and align stakeholders
