About the Company
Flow aims to create a superior living environment that enhances the lives of our residents and communities by developing, acquiring, owning, and managing multifamily apartment buildings and the services and technology inside those buildings.

They are bold and creatively ambitious, driven by relentlessly high standards, act with a sense of urgency and accountability, and always, above all, operate with integrity, loyalty, and trust.

About the Role

We’re building the financial backbone for modern real estate,  a system where data flows intelligently, ledgers stay audit-ready, and financial operations scale effortlessly.

This is your chance to build from first principles: a high-trust accounting infrastructure inside a powerful graph-based platform. You’ll design the interfaces and system logic that power rent flows, payables, inter-company transactions, and reconciliations, with built-in intelligence, not endless spreadsheets.

This role isn’t tucked away in the back office. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, finance, data, and AI, owning the systems that bring clarity, integrity, and automation to every financial decision.

Responsibilities

  • Design of core accounting primitives: chart of accounts, journals, balances, accruals, reconciliations
  • Development of a scalable, audit-grade ledger system that supports complex property and entity structures
  • Creation of user-friendly tools for controllers, accountants, and operators to handle workflows with precision and ease
  • Collaboration with AI teams to embed smart automations, including predictive cash flows, anomaly detection, and intelligent categorization
  • Translation of GAAP-compliant financial processes into software-native abstractions
  • Ownership of financial event schemas, ensuring data precision, traceability, and forward compatibility
  • Integration with external systems: banks, ERP platforms, utility providers, and internal rent/payment infrastructure
  • Alignment with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure financial controls, reporting accuracy, and operational flexibility

Ideal Background

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years working in enterprise financial systems, fintech, or prop-tech
  • Deep understanding of GAAP/IFRS, accounting processes, and reconciliation workflows
  • Experience designing mission-critical systems involving payments, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • A track record of turning complex finance rules into scalable, reusable product logic
  • Ability to communicate clearly across technical, financial, and operational teams
  • Curiosity for how AI and automation can simplify complex workflows, and the judgment to apply it thoughtfully
  • Bonus points: familiarity with banking APIs and ERP integration landscapes

Technical Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communicator, particularly in detailed PRDs for engineering audiences.
  • Experience with financial and payment technologies, such as Stripe, Checkout.com
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (Snowflake, Sigma, Google Analytics).
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks for global payments and accounting standards.
  • Knowledge of UX research methodologies to build intuitive, consumer grade products for internal teams.

What Sets You Apart

  • Understands and embraces grit
  • You're laying the foundation for a new kind of financial system, designed for modern operations, flexibility and transparency
  • You’ll work with a graph-based architecture that models entities, assets, and flows with powerful flexibility
  • Your work will support everything from rent collection to fund transfers to inter-company accruals
  • You’ll collaborate with engineers and product managers across our organization to design intelligent, self-optimizing financial workflows
  • You’ll bring structure to complexity and unlock clarity for everyone, from accountants to executives

Benefits
• Comprehensive benefits package (Medical / Dental / Vision / Disability / Life)
• Paid time off and 13 paid holidays
• 401(k) retirement plan
• Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
• Access to HSA-compatible plans
• Pre-tax commuter benefits
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP), free therapy through SpringHealth, acupuncture, and other wellness offerings
