Job Description

Oportun is seeking a Manager, Capital Markets & Treasury to support reporting and covenant monitoring for existing funding facilities. This role involves analyzing and optimizing liquidity, capital planning, and funding strategies, as well as contributing to structuring and executing securitizations, warehouse financings, and whole loan sale transactions. The manager will also help manage external capital markets relationships.

Must Have:
  • Support whole loan sales activities and investor relationships.
  • Assist in executing asset-backed securitizations and debt financings.
  • Participate in developing funding plans and new funding channels.
  • Perform cash flow modeling, deal structuring, and scenario analysis.
  • Interact with lenders, investors, and rating agencies.
  • Perform liquidity forecasting and cash management.
  • Maintain transaction reporting.
  • Provide capital markets support for financial activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4-6+ years’ experience in capital markets, investment banking or investment management.
  • Securitization experience with strong cash flow modeling and portfolio valuation skills.
  • Experience supporting the management of deal flow and third-party relationships.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Capital Markets & Treasury will support reporting and covenant monitoring for existing funding facilities; assist in analyzing and optimizing liquidity, capital planning and funding strategies; contribute to structuring and executing securitizations, warehouse financings and whole loan sale transactions; and help manage a broad array of external capital markets relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support whole loan sales activities, including coordinating contract review and assisting in the management of existing programs and investor relationships
  • Assist in the execution of asset-backed securitizations, warehouse lines of credit and other debt financings, and loan sale transactions
  • Participate in the development of the company’s funding plans and new funding channels
  • Perform cash flow modeling, deal structuring, and scenario analysis for capital planning
  • Interact with lenders, investors, rating agencies and other transaction parties
  • Perform liquidity forecasting and cash management
  • Assost in the Analysis and implementation ofinterest rate hedges
  • Maintain transaction reporting
  • Provide capital markets support for financial forecasting, financial reporting, accounting, audit and compliance activities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4-6+ years’ experience in capital markets, investment banking or investment management (or master’s degree and equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Securitization experience with strong cash flow modeling and portfolio valuation skills
  • Experience supporting the management of deal flow and third-party relationships
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly dynamic business environment
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Results-oriented team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Excellent MS Excel skills. Ability to write data queries using SQL a plus.
