Join Etéreo, an Auberge Resorts Collection destination in Riviera Maya, as a Pastry Chef. This role involves maintaining a clean and sanitary pastry kitchen, managing waste, utilizing scraps, and ensuring consistent, high-quality pastry and dessert production. You will work under the Pastry Chef, contributing to a luxury guest experience in a pristine coastal paradise.
Must have:
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary pastry kitchen according to Etéreo standards
  • Properly sort waste: recyclable, compostable, or non-renewable
  • Utilize scraps to make other products
  • Test mise en place and all products frequently
  • Use equipment carefully and clean it properly after each use
  • Complete production lists by reviewing daily events
  • Ensure recipe guides are followed for consistent desserts
  • Formal training in culinary arts, specializing in pastry and confectionery
  • One year of Cook II level or previous Cook I experience
  • Competent in various baking methods, including dough preparation, cake modeling, and decoration
  • Strong focus on precision and detail for high-quality presentation

Job Description

Become one of the authors of our story. Join our team as a Pastry Chef at Etéreo in the Riviera Maya, reporting to the Pastry Chef.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done! Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to care for the business, its guests, and their teammates. Within this, key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Maintain the pastry kitchen clean and sanitary according to Etéreo standards.
  • Properly sort waste: recyclable, compostable, or non-renewable.
  • Utilize scraps to make other products is part of what we do.
  • Test your mise en place. Test everything frequently in different pastry and bakery areas.
  • Use equipment carefully and clean it properly after each use.
  • Use clear communication in the Pastry Kitchen:
  • Complete your production lists by reviewing daily events to come.
  • Ensure recipe guides are followed and all desserts are consistent.
  • Maintain a good attitude and behavior with your leaders and peers; you must be a good team player and accept criticism well.
  • Actively listen and build on others' ideas.
  • Understand and effectively use resources.
  • Clearly understand the effective operation of a hotel.
  • Operate ethically.
  • Have a high level of personal integrity.

Requirements

  • Formal training or education in culinary arts, with specialization in pastry and confectionery techniques.
  • One year of Cook II level or previous Cook I experience.
  • Competent in various baking methods, including dough preparation, cake modeling, and decoration techniques.
  • Strong focus on precision and detail to ensure consistency and high-quality presentation of pastries and desserts.
