An exciting opportunity for a Planning and Delivery Leader within the Defence Assembly & Test Maintenance Repair and Overhaul team in Bristol. This role involves playing a crucial part in an integrated operations team, focusing on planning and executing critical customer requirements. The successful candidate will need strong customer management, a proven track record in project delivery, and the ability to operate in a complex environment, contributing to an inclusive, digital-first culture.
Must have:
  • Conduct short- and medium-term load/capacity planning for the value stream ensuring live “in-year” plans are delivered.
  • Undertake scenario planning of long-term business requirements ensuring manning levels and machine capacities can match future year loads.
  • Regular reviews and communication (Order Book Reviews) on delivery plans, measuring of delivery adherence and the escalation of issues when required.
  • Early identification and impact of possible shortages and excess affecting the business plan, taking necessary actions to ensure appropriate escalation, and ensuring mitigating actions are completed.
  • Ensure that any supply chain or capacity risks which have the potential to impact on delivery are identified, prioritised, and escalated where required.
  • Create, review and report on, the performance of the value stream, in terms of Cost, Delivery and Headcount.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements where possible.
  • Work closely with all operations functions (MEs, QEs, PLs) to ensure plans are achieved and the business operates smoothly.
  • Be the voice of operations into other areas of the business (i.e., Programmes, procurement, and shipping) to ensure that Bristol output and input plans are aligned and delivered on time.

What you will be doing

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning and Delivery Leader within the Defence Assembly & Test Maintenance Repair and Overhaul team. The role will be based in the Defence Aerospace Operations Facility in Bristol. As a PDL, you will play a crucial role in an integrated operations team, planning and executing the delivery of critical customer requirements. The successful candidate will need to have a strong customer management focus, a proven track record in project delivery and the ability to operate in a complex environment.

Responsibilities
