Job Description

As Plant Controller, you will manage all aspects of financial and accounting functions for the site, including annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and reporting. You will advise the management team on financial requirements, ensure internal controls, maintain SOX compliance, and oversee financial reporting. This role involves analyzing manufacturing efficiency variances and driving continuous improvement while developing direct reports.
Must have:

  • Seek continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Manage career development and performance of direct reports.

YOUR ROLE

  • As Plant Controller on our team, you will:

In your daily job you will:

  • Manages all aspects of financial and accounting functions for the site
  • Administers plant controllers and is accountable for the site under his/her responsibility
  • Manages annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and the management accounting/reporting process.
  • Advises management team on all financial/budgetary requirements and develops financial goals in partnership with plant and corporate leadership.
  • Ensures that plant goals and initiatives are developed in line with company values, strategic goals, and business plans
  • Reviews control procedures over accounting and financial activities. Provides guidance to ensure that internal accounting controls are in place to protect company assets. Ensures an adequate system of internal control is maintained, and that general ledger accounts are correctly stated, maintains SOX compliance.
  • Oversees preparation of the plants financial reporting. Analyze and report manufacturing efficiency variances and determine corrective action requirements. Ensures items are correctly classified and all reporting is prepared in accordance with GAAP.
  • Seek continuous improvement and use of best practices throughout the organization.
  • Actively manages career development of direct reports, reviews performance, provides coaching and counseling as required to increase performance.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

  • Minimum of 3 years accounting and finance experience in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Master degree preferred
  • CPA or local equivalent preferred
  • English level advanced
  • Excellent analytical skills; attention to detail and able to work with high degree of accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and requirements (preferred)
