Eneba is seeking a Product Counsel to join their Legal & Tax Team. The role involves partnering with cross-functional teams like Product, Commerce, and Marketing to drive business growth. Responsibilities include acting as a strategic partner in the product development lifecycle, translating complex legal risks into clear guidance, shaping compliance by design for emerging technologies like AI and big data, advising on global data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA), co-owning the legal framework for areas such as brand protection and consumer dispute resolution, and driving cross-functional initiatives. The role requires collaborating with external lawyers on complex legal questions and business opportunities.
Must have:
- Master's Degree or equivalent in Law.
- 5+ years experience in fast-paced tech/e-commerce/media/gaming sectors.
- Strong tech-law expertise (IP, data protection, consumer protection, platform regulation).
- Ability to break down complex problems into actionable deliverables.
- Comfortable making fast, business-oriented decisions.
- Excellent at translating legal risks into practical business advice.
- Skilled in building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional time management and prioritization skills.
Good to have:
- Experience at a top law firm or in-house.
- Knowledge of emerging regulations like DSA and DMA.

We work in close collaboration with other teams, to identify and implement solutions that best serve Eneba's long-term interests. This collaborative approach ensures that Eneba's growth is well-supported, while simultaneously upholding the necessary safeguards for business continuity. As a Product Counsel, you will be the primary point of contact for all business units. You'll have the opportunity to partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Commerce, and Marketing, to drive Eneba's business growth and contribute to the company's success.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Strategic Partner: Embed yourself within the product development lifecycle, from initial concept to launch and beyond. Proactively identify legal and regulatory hurdles, and design pragmatic solutions that balance business objectives with risk mitigation.
- Translate Complexity into Clarity: Serve as the bridge between legal and business teams. Break down complex legal risks into clear, business-oriented guidance that empowers teams to make informed decisions.
- Shape Compliance by Design: Architect and implement our compliance strategy for emerging technologies, including AI, big data, and online advertising. Go deep on new regulations like the DSA and DMA to ensure our platform not only complies but thrives.
- Champion Data Protection: Advise on global data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA, etc.), ensuring privacy-by-design principles are at the core of our products and fostering user trust.
- Co-own the Legal Framework: Continuously improve our legal processes and documentation across multiple jurisdictions (EU, UK, US, and SEA). Take ownership of key domains like brand protection, consumer dispute resolution, and advertising standards.
- Drive Cross-Functional Initiatives: Lead and influence cross-functional projects, securing buy-in from a wide variety of stakeholders to effectively implement legal and compliance solutions.
- Leverage Global Expertise: Collaborate with the world's leading external lawyers to tackle complex legal questions and explore innovative business opportunities.
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent in Law.5+ years experience at a top law firm/in-house with a strong preference for experience in fast-paced tech/e-commerce/media/gaming sectors or related industries.
- Strong tech-law expertise (intellectual property, data protection, consumer protection, platform regulation).Track record of breaking down complex, ambiguous problems into actionable deliverables.
- Comfortable making fast, business-oriented decisions with incomplete information and a natural tendency to go deep to understand the root of a challenge.
- Excel at translating legal risks into practical business advice.
- Building strong relationships and navigating diverse stakeholder groups with ease.
- Exceptional time management, task ownership, and prioritization competencies.
