Job Description

Zeeco is seeking an Applications Engineer for its Power group to respond to customer inquiries by selecting appropriate equipment, determining size and cost, and advising customers. The role involves developing inquiries into orders. Key responsibilities include technical analysis of customer needs, process design calculations, crafting competitive proposals with technical and commercial details, customer engagement during the quotation phase, and providing post-order support to project teams. The role also requires continuous improvement of sales presentations and documentation, adherence to quality and safety standards, and fostering a safe working environment.

About the Position

    • As our newly appointed Applications Engineer you will be part of the Power group responsible for responding to customer enquiries requesting equipment by selecting appropriate products to apply, determining size and cost, and advising customers. Taking all necessary actions deemed appropriate to develop enquiries into orders.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Technical Analysis: Interpret and assess customer enquiries to design and specify suitable equipment solutions, including valve sizing and process instrumentation like flow meters.
    • Process Design: Engage in process design calculations, with training provided.
    • Proposal Development: Craft competitive proposals, including technical and commercial details, to align with customer requirements.
    • Customer Engagement: Maintain communication with customers during the quotation phase, addressing technical and commercial questions to secure orders.
    • Post-Order Support: Collaborate with the project team, providing process data sheets and supporting documentation.
    • Continuous Improvement: Enhance sales presentations and documentation, leveraging tools like MS Office.
    • Quality and Safety: Adhere to Zeeco’s quality standards (ISO9001:2015, ISO14001, ISO45001) and foster a safe working environment.

About You:

    • Educational Background: Educated to degree level (Engineering degree preferred)
    • Industry Experience: Solid experience in sales/proposals or relevant industry experience; knowledge of fired combustion equipment or process engineering is an advantage.
    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication.
    • Team Player: Works well within a collaborative team environment.
    • Attention to Detail: Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
    • Decision Making: Confident and assertive with the ability to make independent decisions.
    • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Willingness to Travel: Open to occasional international travel as required.
    • Must live within 1 hr commutable distance to office PE9 4AQ.
    • Must have full UK driving licence.
