Our Approach

At Ghost Ship Games, we take a different approach to game development. Rather than following a rigid pipeline, we emphasize speed, flexibility, and rapid prototyping to enhance gameplay. We believe the best ideas come through iteration, and collaboration is key — both within our team and with our community.

What This Means for You

Testing at Ghost Ship Games focuses much more on what you, as a tester, believes is important to work on based on your research, conversations with developers and player feedback.

In this role, it is valuable to have a genuine interest in the game you are working on, as our approach is not based on developing a task list and handing it to you. Rather, you decide what is in the best interest of the game to work on.

As a tester at Ghost Ship Games, you will also spend a lot of time with the community, who are very active in reporting bugs, and support their efforts to provide the most helpful feedback for us to process and share with the developers. Therefore, it is valuable that you are communicative and able to address inquiries with ease and enthusiasm.

Who You Are and What You Will Be Doing

You are a Tester with some experience testing games or software and who wants to work in the gaming industry. We are open to a wide range of experience that can all add to your toolbox and skills as a tester.

You will be part of the QA Group, where the work can change between being mainly on one project, and also helping out on combined QA efforts across the studio and our Publishing branch.

Our test methodologies are mainly focused on manual testing and error handling, so a strong analytical sense, communication skills and creativity will get you far.

Skills & Software That Will Help You Perform Your Duties

Being thoughtful with your time will help you thrive in this role, along with experience collaborating closely with a development team and supporting a community (for example, through community management or customer service).

It is valuable to have experience in some of the following areas:

  • Experience with consoles.
  • Experience participating in a game or software release.
  • Testing certifications.
  • Experience using bug-reporting tools.
  • Networking knowledge.

Keep in mind, it’s not necessary to check all of the boxes to apply. If you have a few of the experiences mentioned above and you are passionate about learning more, we highly encourage you to apply.

What We Offer

  • Flexible hours with the option to work remotely for two days each month and every Friday.
  • Competitive salary with an annual bonus.
  • Strong pension plan.
  • Health and dental insurance.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Five Weeks of vacation plus five extra days.
  • Child sick leave.
  • Spacious office in Gothersgade with lunch and plenty of social shenanigans.
