Job Description

As a Quality Engineer (QE) in Disney Experiences’ Worldwide Safety Assurance (WSA) Disneyland Resort Quality Engineering team, you will provide technical safety, compliance assurance, and oversight for Disneyland Resort attractions. This role involves ensuring attractions meet applicable Regulations, Standards, and Codes, performing inspections, coordinating DOSH inspections, and supporting internal partners. You will also assist in developing compliance processes, reviewing requirements, participating in hazard analysis, and verifying documentation for safe system use.
Good To Have:
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Certification.
  • Familiarity with industry regulatory, compliance standards, and processes.
  • American Society for Quality Certifications.
  • Minimum 2 years of amusement park experience.
  • Proven knowledge of Maximo, AutoCAD, Smartsheet, Airtable, and electronic data management systems.
  • CA Qualified Safety Inspector Certification.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or engineering management.
Must Have:
  • Perform required inspections, audits, and related efforts to determine compliance of assigned registered attractions with CA Permanent Amusement Ride regulations.
  • Sign the annual Certificate of Compliance for assigned attractions for the CA Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
  • Coordinate and oversee DOSH inspections and investigations.
  • Provide general Quality Engineering support to internal partners, such as Engineering, Engineering Services, Central Shops, Operations, and others as required.
  • Assist in the development of compliance-related processes and procedures, including internal and external standards.
  • Review and assess alignment of requirements and frequency between Manufacturer’s Requirements, Operating Guides, Job Plans, and maintenance criteria.
  • Participate in hazard analysis, design, and delivery reviews for compliance with codes and standards.
  • Establish and verify the accuracy and completion of all necessary documentation, including drawings, manuals, procedures, training, and certification, to permit and ensure the safe use of the system by Cast and Guests.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering.
  • Experience with design, installation, and commissioning of complex systems that meet regulatory and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex data relationships in concise and straightforward presentations.
  • Ability to manage, balance, and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office.

As a Quality Engineer (QE) in Disney Experiences’ Worldwide Safety Assurance (WSA) Disneyland Resort Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical safety, compliance assurance, and oversight for Disneyland Resort attractions. The Quality Engineer exercises broad discretion while offering essential technical guidance to ensure our attractions meet applicable Regulations, Standards, and Codes.

You will report to the Manager- Quality Engineering

This is a Project Hire with no guarantee of permanent placement with an estimated end date of 8/28/2028

What You Will Do

  • Perform required inspections, audits, and related efforts to determine compliance of assigned registered attractions with CA Permanent Amusement Ride regulations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering.

The hiring range for this position in California is $94,200 to $126,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
