Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of the concrete business unit, the regional sales director is responsible for managing the commercial functions of the region and relationships with distributors and clients. This role involves achieving sales and profitability targets, leading sales teams, developing strategic plans, and ensuring effective commercial activities.
Must have:
  • Achieve annual sales and profitability targets for your region.
  • Lead and coordinate regional sales staff for optimal utilization.
  • Assist sales representatives in achieving sales and profitability objectives.
  • Manage sales staff to achieve desired results.
  • Hold monthly meetings with your sales team.
  • Maintain a stable, motivated, and effective sales force.
  • Develop, implement, and achieve strategic plans to grow the business and improve market share.
  • Coordinate and implement marketing programs to increase sales and profitability.
  • Ensure the establishment and development of regional commercial activities, such as contract review.
  • Meet regularly with clients and distributors and act as a technical consultant.
  • Develop, implement, and achieve annual budget strategies and objectives.
  • Prepare the annual sales budget and three-year sales plan for the region.
  • Work closely with CSRs for weekly production planning and monthly resale product purchases.
  • University or college degree in business or a technical field, or equivalent training/experience (5 to 10 years).
  • Proven experience in developing and growing a sales territory.
  • Bilingual (French and English) to facilitate exchanges with the team outside Quebec and international colleagues.
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time, covering Eastern Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic provinces.

Under the responsibility of the Senior Vice President of the concrete business unit, the regional sales director is responsible for managing the commercial functions of the region and relationships with distributors and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Management:

  • Achieve annual sales and profitability targets for your region.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the regional sales staff to ensure optimal utilization.
  • Assist sales representative(s) in achieving sales and profitability objectives.
  • Manage sales staff to achieve desired results.
  • Hold a monthly meeting with your sales team.
  • Maintain a stable, motivated, and effective sales force.

Sales Expansion:

  • Develop, implement, and achieve strategic plans aimed at growing the business and improving our market share.
  • Coordinate and implement, in collaboration with the marketing team, programs aimed at increasing sales and profitability in the region, such as new product launches.
  • Ensure the establishment and development of regional commercial activities, such as reviewing contracts with clients or distributors.
  • Meet regularly with clients and distributors and act, if necessary, as a technical consultant for the selection of the appropriate product(s) for a specific task.

Sales Planning:

  • Develop, implement, and achieve annual budget strategies and objectives.
  • Prepare the annual sales budget and the three-year sales plan for the region to achieve the company's sales and profitability objectives.
  • Work closely with CSRs to assist with weekly production planning and monthly purchases of products for resale.
  • Additional tasks assigned.

Your expertise - Our strength

  • University or college degree in business or a technical field, or appropriate training or equivalent experience in sales, construction or distribution (5 to 10 years of experience).
  • Proven experience in developing and growing a sales territory.
  • Asset: Knowledge of concrete technology and its constituents.
  • Asset: Experience in personnel management.
  • Bilingual (French and English) to facilitate exchanges with the team outside Quebec (60% of the time) and our international colleagues.
  • Ability to travel, 30% of the time, the position covers the region of Eastern Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
