Job Description

This Sales Manager role reports to the Regional Director (West & South) at Taylor & Francis, a leading academic publisher. The primary responsibilities include achieving regional sales targets by identifying new business opportunities, engaging with institutions for proposals and contract negotiations, and building long-term relationships. The role also involves gathering market intelligence, collaborating with field support staff, and spending extended periods in the field to strengthen institutional networks. Key performance indicators include individual sales targets, client acquisition and retention, and contribution to overall regional goals.
Must Have:
  • Support Regional Head in meeting regional sales targets
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Engage with institutions to present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals
  • Build relationships with educational institutions
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term collaboration
  • Gather market intelligence and provide recommendations
  • Collaborate with field support staff to collect actionable insights for negotiations and reporting

Job Description

This role will report into Regional Director (West & South).

Target Achievement

1. Support the Regional Head in meeting regional sales targets by identifying new business opportunities.

2. Engage with institutions to present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals.

Institutional Engagement

1. Build relationships with educational institutions, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term collaboration.

2. Gather market intelligence and provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Field Operations

1. Collaborate with field support staff to collect actionable insights for negotiations and reporting.

2. Spend extended periods in the field to strengthen institutional networks.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Individual sales targets.
  • Client acquisition and retention metrics.
  • Contribution to overall regional goals.

Qualifications
