Job Description

Thales is seeking a Merchant Sales Manager for Latin America to drive commercial growth in payment solutions. This role involves identifying and closing new business opportunities with merchants, payment gateways, and service providers, while strengthening key relationships. The manager will promote Thales' payment acceptance portfolio, collaborate on competitive offers, monitor market trends, and represent Thales PAY at events to achieve revenue targets and contribute to regional business growth.
Must have:
  • Drive merchant acquisition across LATAM by identifying, engaging, and closing opportunities
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with merchants, acquirers and other key payment ecosystem stakeholders
  • Promote Thales’ payment acceptance portfolio adapting the value proposition to local market needs
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on building competitive commercial offers based on customer and market demands following market guidelines and cost optimization
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity to refine sales strategies
  • Represent Thales PAY during major Merchant events and achieve revenue targets and contribute to regional business growth plans
  • Argentinian citizenship or work permit
  • Hybrid role, office based in Buenos Aires
  • Availability to travel internationally

Merchant Sales Manager – Latam

We are seeking a Merchant Sales Manager to lead our commercial growth with merchants across Latin America. In this role, you will develop new business opportunities, strengthen key relationships, and ensure our solutions empower merchants to offer secure and seamless payment experiences.

In this role, you will create profitable opportunities for Thales PAY, dealing with Payment Gateways, Payment Service Providers, Payment Orchestrators, Merchant Wallet Providers, Merchant Payment teams directly and Acquirers (Customers).

Responsibilities

  • Drive merchant acquisition across LATAM by identifying, engaging, and closing opportunities.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with merchants, acquirers and other key payment ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Promote Thales’ payment acceptance portfolio adapting the value proposition to local market needs.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on building competitive commercial offers based on customer and market demands following market guidelines and cost optimization.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity to refine sales strategies.
  • Represent Thales PAY during major Merchant events and achieve revenue targets and contribute to regional business growth plans.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor´s degree in Engineering, business, marketing or similar fields.
  • Proven track record in merchant sales, business development, or account management in the payment processing, fintech, or acquiring industry.
  • Solid understanding of payment acceptance technologies and the merchant acquiring value chain.
  • Strong knowledge in Payment Tokenization, authentication, Click2Pay and Merchant Payment Ecosystems and technology.

Position Requirements

  • Argentinian citizenship or work permit.
  • Hybrid role, office based in Buenos Aires.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a plus).
  • Availability to travel internationally.
