Job Description

The Senior Game Designer will be responsible for creating and implementing game design systems and mechanics for mobile games, as well as level design and game development. They will collaborate with directors, programmers, and artists to develop games from prototypes to worldwide releases. Responsibilities include game design documentation, script writing, level design, data entry, and game balancing. They will also develop prototypes and contribute to market studies and trends while mentoring other game designers.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of game development experience, preferably on F2P games.
  • Experience in the development of at least 2 released games.
  • Excellent understanding of the mobile market.
  • Profound knowledge of monetization in F2P games.
Good to have:
  • Expertise in Game Design, with experience designing and implementing game mechanics and systems.
  • Experience in level design and game development.
  • Proficient in and mobile games.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment and lead a team of designers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Job Details

This is a full-time, on-site role in Auckland for a Senior Game Designer.

We are currently looking for an experienced Game Designer to join our team to work on some of our current and upcoming new titles. You will be working closely with the Directors forming the vision and creative foundation of our games. Also working closely with the programmers and artists to lead a team from prototypes to final world-wide releases of our titles.

The Senior Game Designer will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day creation and development of games. They will create and implement game design systems and mechanics for our mobile games, as well as level design and game development.

What you will be doing:
  • Game design documentation, script writing, level-design, level scripting, data entry and game balancing.
  • Developing prototypes that relate to the vision of the features and/or tasks for which you are responsible.
  • Construct engaging and creative gameplay systems with fun features that will improve user experience, engagement and monetization.
  • Reviewing work at various stages of implementation to ensure the execution matches the vision, goals and quality requirements.
  • Update all project documents and maintain regular updates of all design aspects of the game for an overall quality.
  • Research and develop, contribute in market studies and trends and propose new game concepts/ideas
  • Leads and mentors other game designers in the studio.
Requirements:
  • You have 5+ years of game development experience, preferably working on F2P games.
  • Have worked on the development of at least 2 released games.
  • Excellent understanding of the mobile market.
  • Profound knowledge of monetization in F2P games.
Favorable skills to also have:
