Senior Tax Accountant

As the Senior Tax Accountant you will be assisting VGW on corporate, transfer pricing, remuneration, and indirect tax compliance matters across various jurisdictions. As well as assist the Group’s global tax compliance filings and reporting obligations.
Key responsibilities will include:
Tax Compliance
- Preparation of company tax returns and tax effect accounting calculations, in Australia and for overseas jurisdictions.
- Co-ordinate the half yearly and yearly income tax provision calculations required for consolidated financial reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of various taxation filings including BAS, IAS, withholding tax and any other indirect taxes applicable (domestic and overseas).
- Assist with remuneration tax and FBT matters including assisting with the preparation of the FBT return.
Stakeholder management
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external advisers
- Effectively advising and influencing internal external stakeholders on tax implications and strategies
Continuous Learning
- Stay up to date on emerging tax trends, changes in regulations, and industry best practices
What you will bring to the role:
- Tertiary education in related fields (Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting).
- 3 - 5 + years experience in an accounting / professional services firm and/or corporate in-house tax compliance exposure.
- Completed or nearly completed CA or CPA, or other qualified professional with tax compliance experience.
- Strong understanding of Australian income tax, FBT and GST legislation
- Good tax effect accounting knowledge
- Corporate tax technical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Exposure to transfer pricing, indirect tax and remuneration tax would be helpful.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
