The divisional Finance organization at SPE provides comprehensive business support and partnership for all finance-related matters within SPE.
The SPRI FP&A team supports the Theatrical division, specifically focusing on the distribution of feature films to cinemas. The UK/EMEA SPRI FP&A team pursues robust financial planning and analysis to support the operational decision-making and achieve SPE’s goals and objectives.
Continuous development underpins the team’s activities.
Reporting to the Executive Finance Director and collaborating closely with the UK Senior Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst (FA) provides support and assistance in all aspects of financial planning, reporting and analysis, with an emphasis on EMEA and Belgium FP&A.
The role is based in London and involves daily interactions with various teams, including Belgium Theatrical, UK Theatrical, EMEA Licensing, and GFO towers.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and collaborative abilities, critical thinking capabilities, and effective communication skills.
What you'll do:
FPA & Business support 54% (Split 11% Belgium, 20% EMEA and 23% UK)
- Perform title variances analysis and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for remediation/explanation
- Prepare monthly reporting of Title variance analysis for Senior management
- Monitor overhead variance analysis for deviation or plan revision
- Monitor EMEA license contractual terms
- Monitor and validate media rebates and volume discounts across EMEA
- Monitor centralized spend across EMEA markets and produce periodic reporting
- Administer all aspects of UK marketing budgets (Approvals, Business tool updates, budget revisions and business coordination)
- Administer the split of UK / Ireland budgets and consolidations
- Support the FP&A function with any financial analysis as required
EMEA Title Planning and Reporting 23% (Split 8% Belgium, 12% EMEA and 3% UK)
- Support Finance Module uploads or revisions in the Operational platform
- Support extensive reporting on Plan to Plan and Actuals to Plan to the business
- Prepare analysis to update statistical timing tables for the planning platform
- Prepare draft Belgium title allocations for review by local marketing department
Overheads Planning & Studio Distribution reporting 20% (20% Belgium)
- Provide support to the FP&A function on all aspects of overhead budget and forecast
- Monitors variance analysis against actuals
- Provide support to Title forecast for Third party studios, monitor budget vs actuals & reporting
- Reviews monthly reports to Third party studios and provide analysis when needed
- Prepare annual overhead budget reports and true ups to overheads rebilled to Third party studios.
Other 3% (Split 1% Belgium, 2% UK)
- Provide support for periodic accruals (overhead and title related)
- Coordinate with GFO towers as needed for ad hoc queries & complex reconciliations
- Administer and submit the department’s expense claims
- Ad hoc coordination
What you have:
- Typically 1-2 years Finance experience
- Media sector experience is desirable
- Part-qualified accountancy qualification or Financial training/education
- Accounting in SAP is desirable
- Strong technical skills: Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, VBA Macros etc.)
- Highly organized, working under pressure and across different time zones
- Ability to work and engage cross-functionally and remotely – excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and great interpersonal skills both
- A strong team player who thrives under the pressure of meeting tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills, together with the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and resourceful
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently to ensure work is carried out accurately and in a timely manner
- Knowledge of SAP/BW is desirable
