Job Description

As a Sensor Software Engineer at CAE USA, you will play a crucial role in training the U.S. Armed Forces by designing, developing, and testing real-time aerospace and aircraft systems simulations. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, integrating, and testing Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models. You will also be expected to analyze and modify existing models to meet new requirements while adhering to budget and schedule commitments. This position provides a challenging opportunity for software engineers to expand their skills and contribute to meaningful solutions.
Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
Good to have:
  • Strong C/C++ skills
  • Strong integration experience
  • Familiarity with FORTRAN, Ada
  • Knowledge of Targeting Pod and/or Electronic Warfare models
  • Experience using Jira, GitHub, ClearQuest, and ClearCase

Summary 

CAE USA, Defense & Security welcomes experienced engineers in aerospace and software engineering to help train U.S. Armed Forces and those of our partners around the world. This is a rewarding mission you will be proud to support.  

You will design, develop, test, and integrate real-time aero and aircraft systems simulations for military training devices. This is a hands-on, full life cycle software engineering position for software engineers who desire to grow their skills and career beyond traditional boundaries while creating enduring solutions for a truly meaningful purpose.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models to meet customer requirements 

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, applied math, and problem solving skills 

  • Apply software engineering principles to complete assigned tasks within budget and schedule commitments 

  • Work with senior engineers to understand tasking and complete work with a limited amount of direction 

  • Work within and positively contribute to a team environment 

  • Maintain, upgrade, and improve existing Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models 

  • Analyze legacy Targeting Pod and Electronic Warfare models to understand existing functionality and modify to support new requirements 

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • DoD Secret Clearance is required 

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to the start of employment. 

  • Ability to obtain an elevated clearance is required 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline 

  • Candidate should be a fast learner with very strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming techniques and design patterns 

  • Experience with developing software for Linux 

  • Ability to carry tasks through to completion with only general technical direction 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Strong C/C++ skills 

  • Strong integration experience 

  • Familiarity with FORTRAN, Ada 

  • Knowledge of Targeting Pod and/or Electronic Warfare models 

  • Experience using Jira, GitHub, ClearQuest, and ClearCase 

Security Responsibilities 

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.  

  •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. 

 

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.  

 

Work Environment 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
