The Video Computer Vision org is a centralized applied research and engineering organization responsible for developing real-time on-device Computer Vision and Machine Perception technologies across Apple products. We balance research and product to deliver Apple quality, state-of-the-art experiences, innovating through the full stack, and partnering with HW, SW and ML teams to influence the sensor and silicon roadmap that brings our vision to life. Examples include FaceID, Animoji/Memoji, Scene Understanding, People Understanding and Positional Tracking (VIO/SLAM).
In this role, you will lead a project with small team of QA and automation engineers, analyzing performances of complex Machine learning models and 3D computer vision systems on real world applications, building end-to-end pipeline and metrics for fast model evaluation, and understanding data / model biases. You will also work hand-in-hand with engineering teams from design phase all the way to software release in production hardware, create test plans and drive quality, lead technically deep, strategic and efficient test plan reviews as well as technical innovation within the team on test infrastructure and tools. Influence SW/FW design decisions through a strong test data driven approach that creates collaborative accountability for the dev teams. In this role you are expected be able to dive deep technically, look round corners, anticipate potential design gaps and build effective and efficient quality assurance test campaigns.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
