Software Engineer (FullStack)

eBay is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Full-Stack Developer to join the Cloud Security team. The goal of this role is to ensure the security and integrity of cloud-based platforms by building robust, scalable applications and features that support safe and secure computing practices.

The ideal candidate will have front-end and back-end expertise with a strong focus on security principles that inspire confidence and trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable applications using modern tech stacks.
• Collaborate with security architects and cross-functional teams to implement security standards and enhancements.
• Ensure adherence to best practices for security, performance, and reliability in line with eBay’s coding standards.
• Conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and resolve them to safeguard platforms.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to enhance security and promote secure coding.
• Stay updated with industry trends, threat intelligence, and emerging security technologies to improve eBay’s cloud security posture.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: Proven full-stack development background with a focus on secure software development.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in JavaScript, React, Node.js.
• Familiarity with workflow engines for app development (plus).
• Expertise in security principles and risk mitigation tools/methodologies.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specification.
• Strong in SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with secure cloud platforms and architecture.
• Skilled in writing clear, maintainable, and secure code.
• Proficiency with secure version control (Git) and collaborative dev practices.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, shifting environments.
