Job Description

As a Software Engineer III, Security/Privacy, you will be responsible for writing product or system development code, participating in design reviews, reviewing code developed by other developers, contributing to documentation, and debugging/resolving product or system issues. You will work on projects critical to Google's needs and have opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and the business grow and evolve. You will be part of the Technical Infrastructure team, which builds the architecture that keeps Google's products running. This includes developing and maintaining data centers, building new platforms, and ensuring the best possible user experience.
Good To Have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
  • 2 years of experience building software for data privacy or security
  • Experience developing accessible technologies
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of software development experience
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • Experience with one or more programming languages

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
