Job Description

This Sr. Import/Export Analyst role contributes to expanding access to genomic technology. Responsibilities include identifying import/export process improvements, assigning HS codes and export control to new products, and collaborating with logistics for cost savings. The analyst will report trade compliance violations, support audits, manage customs broker relations, assist with policy implementation, and oversee third-party service providers, ensuring trade compliance and interpreting INCOTERMS.

Must Have:
  • 5-8 years import/export experience with a focus on trade compliance and logistics
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
  • Strong experience in HS classification of articles of chapters 28, 29, 38, 84, 85, and 90
  • Solid understanding and interpreting Participating government requirements (BIS, EAR, USDA, FDA, EPA, DEA)
  • Strong working knowledge of US Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawing, interpret BOM
  • Experience with GTS and ACE portal reporting capabilities
  • Advance knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word
  • Identify areas for import/export process improvement
  • Assign HS codes and Export control to new products across several regions
  • Identify and report any potential violations of trade compliance regulations
  • Support internal, external, and government-directed trade compliance audits and assessments
  • Manage relation with AMR Customs brokers
  • Interpret INCOTERMS and provide advice to the business

Responsibilities:

  • Identify areas for import/export process improvement and work with the AMR Manager to create training and presentations
  • Assign HS codes and Export control to new products across several regions
  • Work with logistics department to identify potential cost savings in import/export processes
  • Identify and report to the AMR Manager any potential violations of trade compliance regulations and work for process improvements to mitigate risk
  • Support internal, external, and government-directed trade compliance audits and assessments
  • Assist with preparation of KPI's, review root cause of shipment outside the KPI
  • Manage relation with AMR Customs brokers by holding QBR and review of SPO
  • Assist with the drive, development, and implementation of policies and procedures concerning US and international trade laws and principals
  • Support other regions with HS writeups and Export control assessment
  • Provide oversight for 3rd party service providers to assure trade compliance
  • Interpret INCOTERMS and provide advice to the business
  • Work with various internal regulatory departments to ensure that the proper information is transmitted to AMR regions Customs
  • Assists in internal audits & assessments
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, to develop and execute defined procedures
  • Manage special projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (equivalent work experience will be considered)
  • 5 – 8 years import/export experience with a focus on trade compliance and logistics
  • Customs Broker License preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced highly regulated environment
  • Experience with internal and external customs audit processes preferred
  • Strong experience in HS classification of articles of chapters 28, 29, 38, 84, 85, and 90
  • Solid understanding and interpreting Participating government requirements ( BIS, EAR, USDA, FDA, EPA, DEA)
  • Strong working knowledge of US Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawing, interpret BOM
  • Experience with GTS and ACE portal reporting capabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively to diverse groups involved in the import/export process: finance, logistics, marketing, sales, contracts, legal
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly manipulate data and draw appropriate conclusions
  • Advance knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word.

The estimated base salary range for the role based in the United States of America is: $80,900 - $121,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
