Job Description
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Follow daily activity schedule/lesson plans and support student IEP objectives.
- Provide direct care services to students (toileting, dressing, feeding) instructionally.
- Participate in student arrival and dismissal.
- Participate in outside classroom activities, interact with students, and address safety/physical needs.
- Understand student disability, IEP objectives, medical alerts, and EPOP.
- HS Diploma required.

Job Description
Currently seeking a School Aide for Staten Island Preparatory in Tottenville.
Role Description:
- Part Time | Monday-Friday
- Hours: 9 A.M - 2:30 P.M
- Non benefit role
- 10 month program with a 30 day summer session
- Responsibilities include:
- Under the direction of the Teacher/ Behavior Trainer, follow the daily activity schedule/lesson plans and support and guide the implementation of a student’s objectives as indicated in his/her IEP.
- Provide direct care services to student as needed, including toileting, dressing and feeding, in an instructional manner so as to provide the basis of future independent student action.
- Participate in the arrival and dismissal of student as needed.
- Participate in activities outside the classroom when necessary (e.g. playground, field trips, gym etc.); interact with the student; and address the student’s safety and physical needs.
- Understand the nature of the student’s disability and its impact on the student’s performance; be familiar with the student’s IEP objectives including the educational purpose and methodology; be familiar with the student’s medical alerts and EPOP (Enhanced Protective Oversight Plan)

Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Candidates with experience working with students with disabilities are preferred.
- HS Diploma required.
