Job Description

The Supplier Quality Engineer will ensure the quality of products delivered by suppliers, manage internal and external faults using the 8D report methodology, and define corrective and preventive measures. This role supports validation activities during project development, follows up on issues with purchased components, participates in daily production QRQC, supports analysis of supplier-related issues, collects technical data for cost justification, and supports FAI activities. The engineer will also participate in continuous improvement activities and other related tasks within the department. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and technical skills. The company is focused on innovation and creating solutions for the rail industry. The role is within the Wabtec Corporation Group.

The ANNAX Group has been part of the Wabtec Corporation Group since 2018 and has sites in Germany, Switzerland and China with a total of over 400 employees. . ANNAX provides the overall technical solutions to generate, transmit and display information. Our system solutions in the rail industry comprise the ANNAX passenger information system with many integrated subsystems, such as seat reservation, passenger counting, video surveillance, information/entertainment systems, and information for the blind and deaf. Our customers include the major OEMs of the rail industry, such as SIEMENS, Alstom and Stadler.

To strengthen our quality department, we are looking for a

Supplier Quality Engineer (f/m/d).

Your Tasks

  • Ensure the Quality of products delivered by suppliers

  • Manage the internal and external faults (NCR) through 8D report methodology

  • Define the adequate corrective and preventive measures in cooperation with all stakeholders

  • Support validation activities related to suppliers during projects development phase

  • For issues detected with a purchased component, define the containment in ANNAX, declare and follow-up incident towards suppliers (using WIM / Wabtec Incident Management database and 8D methodology), follow the investigation and prepare and/or validate the robustness of the corrective action plan

  • Participate to daily production QRQC and support the analysis of issues in relation with suppliers

  • Collect all technical data to justify the costs recharged to suppliers

  • Support FAI (First Article Inspection) activities, in collaboration with the project team and Project Quality Engineer

  • Participate to continuous improvement activities

  • Other tasks as directed by the manager

  • Other Quality related tasks within the department

Profile

  • Completed Education/Training in technical field (Mechanical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, material or similar)

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Good knowledge of MS Office

  • Good methodological knowledge and reporting

  • Professional proficiency in German or English is mandatory, preferably both

  • Assertiveness and high commitment, rigor

  • Readiness for further educations

  • Willingness to travel

  • 1 to 3 years in operational position in industry, preferably manufacturing (Railway, Automotive or Aerospace)
