Job Description

Wabtec is seeking an intern for Product Engineering and Project Management to join its growing Engineering team. This role involves supporting project management activities with the Program Manager, developing and updating dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, and assisting Product/Systems Engineers with modification orders, technical scopes, and specifications for locomotive components. The intern will also help report engineering results, manage administrative processes, and participate in stakeholder meetings, gaining exposure to product development, approval, and validation testing.
Must Have:
  • Currently studying Mechanical/Electrical/Electromechanical/Electronic/Information Sciences engineering with graduation expected by Dec/2027
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge
  • Advanced Power BI knowledge
  • Intermediate English
  • Directly support project management activities with the Program Manager in Engineering
  • Develop and update Engineering Project Management Dashboards and create new indicator panels via Microsoft Power BI
  • Support Product/Systems Engineers in creating modification/revision orders for drawings, technical scopes, and specifications
  • Assist in reporting engineering results, administrative processes, and stakeholder meetings
  • Update, manage, and develop engineering project control indicators (Costs, Deliveries, Quality)
  • Present project modifications/reworks to internal committee, managing actions and completion
  • Issue purchase requisitions for the Engineering department
  • Assist systems/product engineers in locomotive validation tests

Who will you work with?

Our Engineering area is growing, and the beginning couldn't be different; we want to bring interns who will build with us the future technologies we will use in our products to add value to our portfolio, without losing the concepts of safety and excellence. The engineering intern will embark on the development processes of freight locomotives that will support our country's railway chain.

How will you make a difference?

Directly support project management activities with the Program Manager in the Engineering area. Development and updates of Engineering Project Management Dashboards / Creation of new indicator panels via Microsoft Power BI. Support Product/Systems Engineers in creating modification/revision orders for drawings, technical scopes, and specifications related to locomotive models and their components; assist in reporting engineering results and administrative processes (relations with suppliers and internal clients) and meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Throughout the internship, you will have the opportunity to follow the product development management stages, product approval meetings, drawing creation and release processes, NPIs, rework control, and validation tests.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Currently studying Mechanical/Electrical/Electromechanical/Electronic/Information Sciences engineering with graduation expected by Dec/2027.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Excel.
  • Advanced knowledge in Power BI.
  • Intermediate English.

What will your day-to-day be like?

  • Update, manage, and develop engineering project control indicators (Costs, Deliveries, and Quality).
  • Present project modifications/reworks to the internal committee, managing actions and their completion within the agreed deadline.
  • Issue purchase requisitions for the Engineering department;
  • Assist systems/product engineers in locomotive validation tests.
